I've got it 114-114 even, I knew it would be a bit of a 12 round chess match and so it was, Catterall working that left hand counter well but just not proactive enough, Barboza looked more compact, his form looked good done the basics well,.got his jab right hands off,.got home quicker sometimes,. I've no qualms with him getting the nod, Catterall can't keep relying on counter punching to see him through

Reallly feel for catteral. If he never becomes a world champ it will be an insane injustice.

Will be a tough road back (unless he worked a rematch clause in there).

Never really saw the appeal in JC, always goes the distance, doesnt have a appealing style.

God no !

Jack got beaten by someone who outbored him.
Great quality, but like watching a sleep app.

How does Thunder do against those two..? :maybe:

He is too passive, solid defence and doesn't look hurt but doesn't go for the win.

Why ? The Taylor thing apart , this was set up for him tonight and he didn't take his chance.
Barbosa is nothing special, just outworked him .

You can't really "apart" that !
Jack is nowhere near a HOF Unified champ, but on his one great night, he got lucky.., and he really won the lot.
Got robbed, now never wins anything. (I@m sure we all agree).
Maybe boring and only got himself to blame tonight, but still, hard not to feel for him.

this was his chance and he didnt go for it .
doesnt do enough and just too defensive and not showing any ambition .

Jus being a southpaw isnt going to get the wins ..

Bellew reckons Steve Gray missing the knockdown cost him the fight. Ar£e licking beyond belief on dead zone.

Very hard to score, i didn't have a clue, draw would've been acceptable

Maybe Jack's missed his window of opportunity at world level, with his style he'll find it hard to get big fights

Huge domestic showdowns with Smith / Azim in the next year or two look more likely

“The Taylor thing apart” is a wild thing to just ignore… I think the “Taylor thing”is underestimated how fucked it is….

-He beat the undisputed champ but got robbed on the cards….

-then the undisputed champ ignored the cry’s for a rematch and just sat there doing nothing and dropping belts… but no governing body’s gave Cartteral who just got robbed for undisputed a crack at one of the vacant belts… (how could you not)

-then the once undisputed champion went and lost his one remaining belt befor offering Carter al a rematch.

-Cartal beat Taylor for nothing this time…

-then he beat prograss for nothing…

I’ll admit catteral leaves it in the balance a bit much… and I’m not saying he deserved to win this fight. But as I said befor, if he is never a world champ that’s a horrible run of luck...

In total agreement about what happened with Taylor, it was a terrible stain on British boxing.
Beating an on the slide Prograis wasn't for nothing, it gave him the platform for this fight .
He can have no complaints about losing tonight, he didn't do enough, it's that simple.

And i think you just about, sums it up perfectly .

Not all , but a lot of the fight JC was leaning on his backfoot trying to stay out of range of getting hit , but putting himself out of range and missing , Barbosa weight more even , countered and stole the rnds , when he got a little and i mean a little aggresive JC landed more , close fight .

has my old trainer used to say ,, Sometimes it can come down to who has the better color shorts , Barbosa just seemed to want it more , he wanted to win , JC just wanted to not get hit . So like you said he had everything in his favor he just did;nt take advantage .

He was very unlucky in the first Taylor fight. I think everyone agrees he won that fight clearly but everything else is his own doing.

He had his breakout win against Stalker in late 2014. It took over 7 years for him to fight Taylor from that point. He wasted years fighting journeymen & left a TV promoter to go with Kinahan.

Even recently he could have gone for other belts but he went for Taylor & Prograis because they paid more & he thought (correctly) that they were past their best. He’s had home advantage & very favourable scoring in the Taylor rematch & Prograis fights.

Reece Bellotti looks such a seasoned boxer. He's had a super career and on a 6 fight winning run...all Southern area, English title, Commonwealth title or British title fights.

Get this man a European title shot next ! :box:
