For it to work the BBC are going to need BBC viewers of all ages and backgrounds to tune in, in this day and age that's not going to happen, even the fight be shown on BBC2 rather than BBC1 will reduce viewing figures dramatically i'd imagine

Boxxer IS complete shit. There were better shows on obscure digital channels like Bravo than last night's plop.
Looking at the size difference between Simpson and Williamson when they were briefly interviewed I think I can guess the outcome of that bout

I know it was TV and not radio but I was disappointed I wasn't told where they were on the clockface. His enthusiasm made the Hennesesy fight watchable. Well done Ron.

I don’t know what boxing you're watching most weeks but let me know as it must be good. We don’t get many fights as entertaining as Clarke - TKV was on UK shows.
Based off that you must think Simpson will unify the division as he’s huge for the weight & will be significantly taller than almost anyone at the weight

anyone listen to this week beyond boxing about boxxer. I agree if you are dancing to the ring you know they have got a easy fight.
Terry is completely ignoring the fact the BBC love women's sport. They would no doubt insisted on it.

I think most people would prefer Allen to win but the BBC having then British heavyweight championship on free to air TV then losing it to DAZN in two fights would be terrible for the deal and the fans. The BBC would love Allen if he became a household name as well. Hopefully Hearn is looking at this and seeing that he might be missing a trick rather than gobbling up all the talent.
Interestingly, if I remember correctly, Sky are trying to buy ITV. If they like what BBC are doing with boxing, they might start showing undercard fights or the odd show on ITV. Might be wishful thinking but who knows

Apparently that could be as late as March

I know he's previously talked about being involved in some negotiation(s?) for Boxxer, but that could have been pro bono
Eddie and Frank accusing him of being a paid investor was wild. Seriously slandered his journalistic independence there. But then it all just went away. Maybe he let them off the hook. Should have sued them!

Oh I'm sure he's talking to people. But mindlessly parrotting what people tell you is not the same thing as insight.
March is a good guess, seeing as January is always a write off promotionally, and you'd need Feb to build a late March show at the earliest.
But I will guarantee you not a single senior Sky exec has told him directly what he's saying above re JW and timelines.
