Eddie measures everything in terms of viral moments, social media followers, showboating etc. Rarely mentions his boxing ability.
Not saying he's not a good fighter, but the back-to-back showcases suggest they're running an entertainment business with Whittaker rather than building a serious fighter towards world level.

Just leaving the arena now, been to the ABAs earlier.
Thought Molly looked like a proper pro boxer but there was a good few little things to tighten up. Who else is there at SBW who can beat her?
Quite a few to be honest. She's only beat a few cans.
She's at 122? She looks bigger than that to me.
Yep. I think it would be better for everyone if they re-structured the women’s weights, but that’s where she weighed in for this one.

Ellie Scotney is SBW right ?
She'd be a big favourite, but I agree Meatball Molly looked surprisingly good - feet, head movement etc.
There was a few times where she even crossed her arms and took a smart little stance switch what looked like proper boxing boxing style. I’ll be happy enough following her career

The first Cameron fight is going to be the best thing that could have happened to Ben. He'll have his BoxRec #1 shirt on soon enough.

It feels like it's straight out of the Connor Benn playbook. Lots of hype, some initial promise, headline fights, then fight after fight of guaranteed knock overs.

He's only 13 bouts or so in, but yeah it's time to move him up to people that'll at least be SOMEWHAT of a threat as opposed to none whatsoever.

Yeah, and the sudden run of early knockouts could be straight out of the Conor Benn playbook too..

Or he's learning the Kronk style from Andy Lee.

And also all these vacant trinket belts like international or global when he hasn't even secured British. That's also the similarity to Benn. A whole bunch of nothing, and tonight - no belt of any description.

The thing is, he's an Olympic Silver Medalist and he's got plenty of skill, but boxing is as much a mental game as anything else and I genuinely think he's got his head screwed on now.

suarez a guy who always loses as visitor, ko'd in 4 of his 5 losses. people buying into this hype as some really impressive showing is one of the reasons i do less boxing these days, it's all a circus and big advertising job. how about the nearly 30 year old supposed superstar actually fight someone good? not these 'how fast will they fall' opponents

probably lots, she's a 36 year old who beaten a few nobodies and already given up multiple rounds in fights vs low level opponents.

Whittaker needs a proper fight next. I know he's on the undercard of the 154 fight in New York.
They need to put him in with a test, not another blow out.

I wouldn't put him in his first ever tough test in his first ever fight in America. Brits making their American debut tend to have bad luck, better not push it.

That's probably about 90% wrong but if it makes you happy, run with it.

I remember Hatton having a hard go of it with Luis Collazo, Anthony Joshua of course famously got beat by Andy Ruiz. I don't really have any statistics or anything, it's just a few noteworthy examples that come to mind.

Hatton had already fought at MSG, Atlantic City and Detroit by then, and the Detroit fight was a test at that stage of his career.
Whitaker looked good last night. Previously he would have been happy to fiddle around over the distance but he now seems all business thanks to Andy Lee. I've no interest in the larping, but the kid can fight and will look forward to see Ben W again

Always said only thing worse than a bad loser is a BAD WINNER nothing worse than someone who lairs a ridicules his opponent
Now also i.ve stated on here many times my hatred for uncompetetive fights . The handpicking of guys that are not up to the superstar and handpicked to get beat , possibly badly hurt maybee even killed . Just to boost the record of someone who they dont havd the confidence to put in a 50...50 fight
So i suppose based on these two things i hate about boxing . I.m never gonna be a fan of Whittaker.
Im still waiting for Benn to get ko ed remembering him and his dad doing a dance over a on the floor . Overmatched too old boxer a few years ago . Whicjh will happen has soon has he fights someone his own size whos half decent

Too soon cobber.
As you know, boxers are not in control of their destiny until they reach a certain level where their status and star is bright enough to have a say in what they do.
Quittie isn't there, so he ain't choosing this, he also had a lean period with Boxxer.
He's a bit of a d*ck for sure, but so are a lot of the top guys. If he doesn't get to becoming a legit champion, then for sure his attitude is up for derision.
I'm impatient and frustrated with his progress, but I'm holding back- just in case he really shines, then I can forgive a bit of the d*ckhead stuff.

Hearn has big raps on him . Becuase he sees talent and loves a Lair .Hearn loves the showmen , perhaps they remind him of himself .
But yet he.s now doing what he critizized boxer for and what he done with Connor Benn .
Whittaker was a bad winner from the start . I understand that sells tickets and creates interest . BUT..... when its coupled with handpicked sub standard opponents . Alls its doing is pissing on peoples backs and telling them its raining .
Now if he was to fight some genuine opposition and still be a lair . Then i,d be tempted to quote Ali. And say when you can do it .It aint bragging .
Until then he.s just a lair .bad winner . And a complete bellend . Nazeem done it but he fought good fighters and you knew there was no malice he was putting a show on . So he got a pass Whittaker justvtakes it too far
