Regardless of Ruiz inactivity he's an experienced former champ who doesn't deserve walkovers, people acting like Knyba is a monster ffs, moan about mismatches and moan about favourites losing because of different attributes, Andy Ruiz fkd his own career and it's not as if he was gonna be a Matchroom poster boy, Eddie will recover
I agree with most of what you said but it's not looking so good for Hearn right now. His "future superstar" Chaves got destroyed on the same card.
Peaks and troughs, I agree Eddie's stable doesn't have the depth in talent it had a few years ago but it's still vast, plus he's usually got options on whoever upset his guy, he's already signed Mielnicki and he'll probably put Knyba in a big fight

Note: But in reality? It was Anthony Joshua who clearly inflicted a more career damaging win over Ruiz Junior 'during their rematch. Joshua initiated the rematch immediately and beat him easy winning almost all the rounds'.
Andy Ruiz Jr. became unified heavyweight champion, contested three world title fights, topped ESPN and The Ring’s rankings, and earned a combined $24 million from his last five bouts.

The wealth from his first win over AJ meant he no longer needed to fight regularly to pay his bills.

Let’s not pretend Ruiz Jr.’s rematch loss to AJ clearly damaged his career far more than the damage the Mexican-American inflicted on the Brit during his one-sided, four-knockdown stoppage win over Joshua.
Andy Ruiz Junior's last world title fight was against Anthony Joshua 'in a fight where he was completely dominated easy by Joshua and lost almost all the rounds'.

Note: Since that fight he has done absolutely nothing at top level 'the best he could do? Was achieving a draw against Jarrell Miller, who is another fighter who has done nothing at top level. And only really receives media attention because he is an American Heavyweight fighter'.

Andy Ruiz Junior lost last night. Like I said? Anthony Joshua definitively 1000% inflicted a more damaging win over Andy Ruiz Junior'.

Anthony Joshua's next fight is potentially against Tyson Fury 'and I back him to be the first fighter ever to legitimately knock Tyson Fury out' etc.

"I want to run it back. He was a great opponent, I didn’t want an easy fight, and that’s why I chose Damian.

“I’m not done, just because of this loss. I have still got it in me, and I want to fight again.”
No Andy, just no.

I kinda had an inkling that with 3 years off and not looking too impressive last time out Ruiz wasn't gonna do well here. I should've bet on Knyba. Ah well.

Decent win for Knyba. Ruiz is finished.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again…

The wealth from his first win over AJ meant Andy Ruiz Jr. no longer needed to fight regularly to pay his bills.

Before entering the ring for Damian Knyba loss, the 37 year old past-his-prime version of Andy Ruiz Jr. had only fought three times in six years and nine months.

That doesn’t sound like someone who loves the sport and enjoys being punched in the head as a hobby.

The likes of Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston, Chris Eubank Sr., and Bernard Hopkins have all referred to boxing as a "dirty business", it was strictly as a brutal job to secure financial freedom. There's nothing wrong with Andy Ruiz Jr. treating the sport in the same way.

Andy could have had a much bigger legacy if he just had the discipline to train harder, eat better, and be more active.
I thought physically he looked pretty good in the lead up to the fight- well for Andy at least.
Turns out father time got him.

Is it the greatest lucky break of any fighter ever?

Miller failing the test just as Andy was in shape from fighting an opponent who was ideal prep for Joshua. Gets the fight from DMing Hearn. Lands a bomb when Aj is going for the finish, then gets the first load of Saudi cash for the rematch.

He took his chance when it came, so not taking anything away from him. But the stars don’t align like that very often.

You nailed it right there.
Andy had ridiculous skills and talent, despite his physique.
To see a man carry so much surplus weight and box so well against good heavyweight opponents…….and then he wins and loses the heavyweight title….and hardly fights again?
Seriously, who was guiding that career?

Stop talking about fighters purses, it is not relevant. 'I don't care. Stop making excuses for a professional fighter, not being good enough when the going got tough in his career'.

Note: Anthony Joshua inflicted a more damaging win over Andy Ruiz Junior in their rematch 'he immediately avenge his loss, and completely switched up the narrative of the first fight by 180 degrees. Joshua won almost all the rounds, and since then Ruiz Junior disappeared from top level boxing'.

And again? Don't disrespect past great all-time great American fighters 'by putting them alongside Andy Ruiz Junior, a fighter clearly with a terrible work ethic, and nowhere near the level of competitiveness, discipline as those fighters'.

Andy Ruiz Junior did not treat the sport of boxing the same way as Mike Tyson, Chris Eubank Junior, Bernard Hopkins or Sonny Listen. None of those fighters did not just disappear after one loss at top level, those guys did not just rely on motivation because they had discipline like Oleksandr Uysk has stated he has in his career' etc.

 Yep he needs another break. I think he will be fed an easier fight next time out.
Then be used against an up and comer. His time as a contender are over.

Imagine if he was as interested in boxing as he is with tattoos, food, and getting high. Don't get me wrong I don't mind the last two. :OhYes:
