Its well known that many fighters have fooled the doctors when they've had their eyes examined... Joe Frazier, Sugar Ray Seals.... ring any bells do they.
And Bruno met up with lots of ex champs, Floyd Patterson came to England to help him out a bit... but Bruno also met up with Ali and Frazier and Holmes in America. Patterson was the one that came to London...

Sounds like its pretty good to me. I've got a lot of respect for him being so open about his illness... it takes a lot of guts to reveal these sorts of problems.... and he's doing a lot of good for other people with mental health issues.

lewis couldnt hadle bruno`s ramrod (as harry used to call it) jab, in fact frank was all over him and when lewis landed the haymaker that changed the fight he was backed into a corner looking at the canvas and swinging his arms about. that punch was lucky if ever there was one.
that right glove of frank had a stick of dynamite in it, if he caught you clean it was goodnight.
in the first tyson fight he only partially caught mike but still stiffened tysons legs, tyson had a good chin but if the big guy would have caught him flush it would have been over. big frank had a go at tyson in the days when the likes of tony tucker and bonecrusher smith just tried to survive.

I agree definately..... Brunos very underrated generally. He was unlucky really to lose to Lewis... he actually gave Lewis a boxing lesson that night.
Frank had serious power in both hands and his jab was tremendous. Also he was good at going for the body, soemthing which many heavies do not do. Franks biggest weakness was probably his own selfdoubts which saw him sometimes tense up on the big nights and wear himself out with nervous energy. I'm pretty suire that with more confidence and experience he could have beaten Witherspoon... in fact every fight he lost (except the Tyson bouts) he was ahead.

Witherspoon on his day was a very good heavyweight, i think he knew big Frank was going to wear himself out, so that was his gameplan.

I don't think it was Witherspoons idea to let Frank more or less dominate the first 10 rounds like he did. I think Bruno was about two rounds ahead. I agree that he should have fought a few top ten contenders before the Witherspoon fight. I also think it was a mistake not to let Frank fight for the British title... I think winning and defending the British and Europeon titles would have enhanced his experience and confidence a heck of a lot especially in the 80s.
