Once again I am forced to correct you, Robert Waterman has not written to the WBU regarding Ricky.
Ricky's purses for his next 3 fights are guaranteed and he will get paid irrespective of how many people pay for the fight or indeed if it is a title fight, which incidentially it will be.
You really should pay more attention when you are brewing up!
Hatton may well be guaranteed. But all this will ensure is that FA go bust. They are paying him too much.
Spot on KO Artist!
Robert waterman is not telling the truth either. Ask the WBU? Why else was he not stripped on 13th December 2005? In fact Robert, if he actually had any money, wanted to buy the WBU not so long ago he offered a stupid amount of money for it too.
9th Row available means nothing just the certain proice bracket however, Ron Borges of the Boston Globe tells me the event is set to flop with little or no interest in Boston for a Purto Rican fighting a Brit. He can't understand why Pellullo stayed in Boston witohut McBride.
Next step will be to unveil Ricky Hatton as a closet Paddy and whell him out in a green shirt and a shamrock. Perhaps 'Fantasy Football' Ray can tell us that he played for the Republic and well as Man City.
Perhaps eatsleepandwiperaysnose can expalin this promotional masterstroke?
Oh and by the way, the WBA have still not sanctione it and Urkal hasn'r even been made a sensible offer to stand aside.
All in all a right fornicate up from start to finish. Larve it, larve it, larve it, larve it, larve it!!!!

I've always felt they were taking a big risk in taking Ricky on, seeing as the reason he left Warren was that he wanted more money, not about what fights he could or could not arrange. No offence to fight Academy, who have done splendid work for Clinton Woods, but why would Ricky sign with them, rather than Arum, Main Events, DKP, GBP etc?

So he can call the shots and extract as much money as he can for the minimum of risk. He didn't sign for the aforementioned because they wouldn't oput up with his plan and demands and turned him down. Have they done spendid work on Clinton Woods? not in my opinion. They haven't exactly kept him busy have they? They sacrificed him to RJJ despite winning the purse offer and now he seems to be Hatton's poor relation.
Woods has been loyal to Hobson but's what's the betting Hobson is in Boston on 13th May?
Woods is £400k out of pocket because his Manager is an egotistical fool.
FA's ego prevented him fighting JC and earning a whopping £400k and possibly more due to Hobson's crazy bet which he soon bottled out of when FW called him on.

That's what I am saying, I guess FA offered Ricky more as he was something of a feather in their cap.
I think Hobson has done alright by Clinton, to get him title shot after title shot considering that Clinton has never had a massive fan base is pretty good work in my book. Admittedly Woods hasn't been the busiest bee since, but he's still got a title and should get at least one chance to cash in on it. Part of the reason he's not busy is to do with the current state of the division with few fighters wanting to get it on, and Tarver too busy making movies and fighting ancient middleweights.

What? Calzaghe and £400k is not wanting to get it on then?
Also, an added bonus was the chance to win nearly a £800k with a bet HE called on but then bottled it.
Clinton should kick his Managers arse IMO.

Well, perhaps. However, prior to that I think Hobson has done very good work for Clinton. Perhaps they weren't too confident of the outcome, or didn't think that SN would call their bluff and took it as an opportunity to make Frank look foolish, which then backfired? I dunno, I don't know how their or anyone elses mind works.

it's all gone a bit quiet again on the title front.
it was looking grim a few weeks back. since then the wba haven't said a word about the wba belt not being on the line and it looks like boxingchat has some apologising to do.
taxi for boxingchat.

Don't think so. At the time of writing the WBA have not event received a measly $300 payment required to even discuss the matter so therefore not only has sanction not been granted but an appeal against their refusal has not even been arranged becauae no payment hasd been received.
So at present it's not a WBA world title fight.
It may be....but not yet so cancel that Cab!

Its a cleverly worded ad.
It says "Ricky Hatton chasing a third world title"
Doesn't necessarily mean in this fight.
Joe Calzaghe was chasing a Unification fight when he faught Evans Ashire, Danny Williams is chasing a World title fight but isn't fighting for the title next.

Lets face it. Its not a PPV standard show. I ditched SKY a while back, but even if I still had it I wouldnt pay for this show. No value at all.
The boxing is better on ITV, particularly as its free.

Today's Hatton gossip. The WBA have been told by a NY court that they are still not, despite Hatton vacating his 140 lb belt, in a position to sanction any title for Hatton as it will be seen as 'collusion' to avoid his obligation to M'Baye. Damages for M'Baye will be awarded and the WBA will not be too happy to help Hatton as a result of the cost.
The measly $300 (£160) has still not arrived and now SKY are rumoured to have pulled the PPV and are now going free-to-air.
Kings coming over to put some spin on the situation to the gullable British press and say that belts don't matter and that this is a REAL world title fight blah blah blah. However, belts do matter and he will be still proclaiming Collazo as the World champion after Hatton flattens him in Boston and selling his next fight as a WBA defence
The Judah/Baldomir fiasco has opened another loophole to be exploited where Champions can fight, lose and still hold onto their belts by the Promoter not paying the fees. King will use this loophole more and more to protect his bargaining power.
So, at the time of speaking Ricky Hatton has vacated three belts, is going into a non-title fight, against a King fighter and really believes that this will put him in position to fight Mayweather.
Ricky said recently "If Junior Witter wins a top-three belt then I will fight him as he has something to offer. Without one I don't need him." Perhap's Maywether will return the comment and leave more egg on the Hatton's faces!
Does anyone wonder why, for the first time in 35 years, King didn't ask for options on Hatton before putting HIS champion in against a voluntary challenger. He doesn't think Collazo will win so did King know the truth way back then? Of course he did.
The German's are still not agreeing to step aside and no monetary offer has been made for him to do so. Sauerland and King don't get on and they won't be bought out so all in the Hatton garden is not looking rosy.
Is Ricky still earning that massive purse with no PPV?
Way to go, Fight Academy................................[/b]

Well somebody had better tell Sky it wont be a PPV as they are advertising this as a WBA title fight on Box Office:
*
Luis Collazo against Ricky Hatton is exclusively live on SKY BOX OFFICE on Saturday, May 13 from 10pm.
*
It will be repeated at 9am and Midday on Sunday, May 14.
*
The event will be available to Sky digital customers on Sky Box Office channel 755, priced at £14.95 for UK customers, €21.95 for customers in the Republic of Ireland.

I raised this point myself, and was staggered to learn that King had no options. However, it isn't the only time in 35 years, King didn't ask for options on Baldomir I believe.

There are several things about this post I don't quite understand. Be grateful for enlightenment.
1. You say damages to Mbaye
will be awarded. For what? For sanctioning the Collazo fight as a WBA title fight? But later on you claim that this won't be a WBA title fight anyway. Which is it?
2. You say that the Judah/Baldomir fiasco has created a loophole whereby promoters dont pay sanctioning fees and their fighter hangs onto the belt. But surely the Baldomir situation is down to the fighter himself not paying the sanctioning fees?
3. Is your argument really that the Mayweather/Hatton fight depends on Hatton holding a world title at 147? Because I dont find that credible. Arguably not holding the WBA title could strengthen Hatton's hand because it will allow him to be ranked by the IBF at 147 and pressure Mayweather that way. But to be honest, we all know that the key factor in Mayweather/Hatton will be money. There are too many examples of
two top 10 p4p fighters meeting with no belt at stake in recent years for me to buy this argument of yours if that is what you are claiming.
4. Finally, you make great play of the fact that King has not got options on Hatton. As if this proves all your theories. But you know, i know, King knows, the whole world knows that he would never have got options on Hatton. Hatton is one of the hottest properties in world boxing right now - if King thought he could get options on Hatton he would crawl on his arse through broken glass to get a sniff of them. As would all promoters. Including Sports Network.

Maybe if the WBA title isn't on the line we can complain to SKY for being mislead and get our PPV money back? Just a thought
