November 2006 my brothers world collapsed. Every pudendum saying not world class. Ben Dunne. Genuine man and class boxer. Carl Johannesson. The same. Keyboard warriors. never fought. Just in from the nightclub is my guess.

Thought Dunne keeping his hands low would cost him. His guard Is wide open too as he moves around on his feet.

definataly

but the point i think hes trying to make is, a lot of dunne supporters seemed to relish the fact that hunter got beat of molitor and for some insane reason thought because of this defeat it proved dunne would be far to good for micheal.

i think

Hunter V Dunne is a fight I would like to see and going off not just last nights Dunne performance but his previous 3 Michael would beat him without to much trouble.

The Hagler fella got it right one two counts:

1 I had just staggered in
2 Hunter beats the Irishman

Wow, talk about an ambush! That crowd might intimidate most fighters, but not if you punch like that. The Irish camp seemed oblivious to the fact they were taking on a serious puncher - Dunne certainly was.

Must be that, like most of us, the fact this so called puncher was coming from little regarded Spain, made them doubt he hit THAT hard...

I think Dunne can come back from this, he showed class in taking such a shocker so well, and he's showed his class in the past. It seemed more a case of Kiko being an exceptional hitter than BD not being able to take a decent punch. And getting caught STONE COLD didn't help.

If his chin was no good, I doubt he'd have risen from those first two punches: the punches that pretty much ended the fight, though he carried on awhile longer.

He'll take awhile to recover that confidence, but I can seem him fighting his way back, with the Irish crowd warming to him even more as he comes back from disaster. Could be he'll never face as hard a puncher again.

And Kiko Martinez, what a great prospect Spain have on their hands at long last.

I think most Dunne supporters like myself were disappointed with Hunter's loss as we felt Dunne would beat Hunter(and I still do) .

I don't see what Hunter has to beat Dunne , pressuring him won't do any good because he simply doesn't have the punch like Martinez did and would get picked off .

i remember you started a thread, could have been on the seconds out board actually, before dunnes first pro fight. you were basically saying it was the start of a new era and dunne would do ireland proud.

pocketrocket has been following dunne from the get go.
Jesus, you have a memory!! Thanks :)

Still, his post-fight interview showed how classy he was, many fighters have been wiped out, not writing the obiturary just yet...

Bad loss for Dunn but it happens in boxing and its rather sad to see some people carping in glee at his defeat... one ko loss shouldnt end a career... it might even be the making of him, all down to him and his attitude really, but to write Dunn off because of this is stupid...

Only just watched it, what a shocker!

I'd only ever seen Dunne the once before so didn't really have many expectations but was aware there were some question marks over the lad.
