Collins, Irene, IFF, sorry, but this is the way the fight should have been scored
If you have a thing for muscular fighters then that is definitely the right score.

How about Ali was running, flicking ineffectual arm punches while backing away, without a solid base, while Norton was stalking him, walking him down, hurting him to the body?
Ali's body language and behavior during and after the fight should tell you all you need to know about his performance. Ali knew Norton won the fight. He shoved Bundini after the bell for the 12th because Bundini was trying to put on a false show of bravado for the crowd. Ali knew the truth.
Compare that with Norton's behavior, he picked Ali up bodily in the second round showing Ali who was the boss, he screamed in Ali's face after the fifth round to show things were going his (Norton's) way. It was a dominant performance by Ken Norton. Norton won all three fights and won more than 2/3 of the 39 rounds.
Dave, I am an Ali fan, he was one of my childhood heroes...But I got to give where credit is due. Norton fought magnificently, and GOT ROBBED. I saw Ali's face after the fight and it seems that he KNEW HE LOST THE FIGHT. Like his confidence was not there at all. It was THE SAME FACE THAT HE PUT ON THE THIRD FIGHT...THE SAME SAD FACE!!!
How in the world Ali won this fight? Ridiculous!!!

I think GI pointed it out elmer... but you thought Norton won the fight before you had even seen it... so surprising that you still had Norton winning once you took the time to actually watch the match
Hey granberry... I'd post pictures of all of Louis' knock downs too, but that would take up the rest of the night... way too many knock downs to try to locate all those pics. I think the Galento pic says it all, though. Enjoy.

Ok another mod locked this, for NAME CALLING it appears....which is against the rules. I suppose "Moron" and the like are acceptable if you really get heated but some of the personal attacking is not in the spirit of the rules. I deleted a half dozen or so below the belt personal attacks....So after a bit of cleanup it is reopened for business. .and I won't do it again as it takes too much of my time.
So....keep 'em above the belt.

What about the C-word?
I had some neanderthal call me that (although he wasn't man enough to spell it properly) on another thread; for merely expressing a valid held opinion!

It's all a bit subjective...and isnt' a problem until it's a problem. Assisting in maintaining civility is a bit like wrestling with Jello...don't you think?
