What harm is he in the long term for boxing?
Fair point, I guess.

I think the thing is that with him being touted as such a wonderful superstar, other boxers who might be more deserving ( Not naming names, but it surly is obvious)- and who are are equally able, arn't getting the press attention.

Hatton is in it for the money.

He talks the same old cliched crap everytime.

I hope he makes more and more money then walks away rich and happy and LETS THE REAL FIGHTERS LIKE HAYE COME THROUGH.

:TU:
How is Hatton stopping Haye coming through?

Did I say that?

I said LET then come through and not STOPPING.

He is not STOPPING them but he takes up valuable space in Newspapers and maybe they will look to the REAL FIGHTERS who actually fight for GLORY as well as MONEY.

Hatton is a laughing stock amongst those who follow the Sport.

Even Maliganaggi said he can not understand how a fighter can be so scared of his nnearest rival

He is also said Hatton is overrated and not very good.

And take Matthew with you!

I don't really care what Malignaggi says pal, he'll get beaten if he fights Hatton then will look a real mug for saying 'hatton's not very good'... blah blah blah!!

I know you talk a lot on the subject of Hatton Witter which generally contains a lot of points I agree with, but recently it's spilling over into 'even Malignaggi says Hatton's rubbish' - and that's pretty silly.

Gotta say that Hatton is doing what he has always done, appealing to the underread boxing fan who's probably never heard of Malignaggi, Torres etc etc. All the posters on boxing forums are pretty well versed and know the field of talent - the majority of the sky ppv buyers and attenders at the Hatton fights will have thought that Bruno was genuinely the best HW at one time.

I wouldn't have a beef with Hatton over it though - there are some pretty knowledgeable boxing writers in the papers, and plenty of decent British fighters about... if they wanna write about Hatton then why?

I keep saying it, but I'm not gonna slag Hatton for ducking Junior until I see where the next couple of fights go, even though the situation is ratign with me.

Has the undercard been filled yet - any word on Matthew Hatton's opponent??

How about this for a ridiculous guess - Gatti or someone in his line??

I agree with this.

I remember a few years ago I was on these boards espousing the same views as DG when DG was a little trooper coming through. I was all along at that stage so it's great to see the likes of DG putting the forum straight on this issue.

:D

A little trooper?

I was a Legend then and I am a Legend now.

I must say I do agree with most of the things you say about Hatton DG. (the dodging etc). However he has done a hell of a lot for the sport. All be it mainly through cherrypicking.

The following and appeal he has gained has probably created such an increase in the sports poppularity in the UK that allmost all boxers are potentially benefiting.

Increased popularity gets more money into the sport. More money in the sport will help at all levels. Events which would usually get 3000 attending may now be getting 5000 fans. And when theres more money in any industry there will be a higher quality workforce and better infrastucture which the next generation will undoubtably benefit from.

Therefore, allthough I personaly dislike Hatton, I have to concede that he is doing the sport a service by indirectly increasing the poularity of fellow profesionals and making the sport more accessable to young aspiring amateurs.

Believe me - 90% of Hatton's fans could not name 10 boxers.

Hatton benefits and imo, thats about it!

In my view the fight is a step back for Matthew Hatton - it is in my view a cost cutting exercise as I believe Watson is a Maloney fighter.

I honestly believe unlike some Matthew Hatton has improved big time and a fight against Craig Watson is a massive step down.

Finally I agree with shittalker - however if he said "active boxers" they would be stumped!

1. Ricky Hatton
2. Matthew Hatton
3. Amir Khan
4. Junior Witter
5. PBF
6. Junior Witter
7. Rocky
8. David Straw

Ehhh, dunno anymore!!
