Maia needs to up his over-all game if he wants to become the champ. I don't see him having success against guys like Thompson, Big Rigg, Lawler, or, of course, Rory.

I enjoyed the Miocic fight. To knock another heavyweight silly with a shot like that is pretty impressive in my book. I am not that high on Werdum as an all round MMA fighter. I fully believe Cain would beat him in a rematch. And while Miocic looked a bit off last night leading up to the KO, his quality has been on display in prior bouts against top comp. The reason he did not look all that good last night was because of his tentativeness for fear of the take down. Who really wants to tangle with Werdum on the ground?
I'd like to see Romero get a shot or him and Jacare have a rematch.
I would love to see Romero get a shot. But, it looks like he's out until later in the year sometime. Guess it could work out, but I believe he has something like 5 months left on his suspension.
Yeah I forgot about the suspension. Saying that though, I think the suspension is up in July some time! Dont quote me on that though lol.

How do you see Thompson vs MacDonald going? That's a great fight! I think Thompson is gonna take it myself but either result wouldnt be a shock.

Awesome fight! Great match-up. A title shot at Lawler would be an easier task for Thompson than Rory. Thompson and Rory make for an interesting style match-up. I think Thompson will win as well. Only due to the damage Rory has taken in the past few years. But, it should be very competitive. Both excellent, rangy fighters.

Ever since Thompson has tightened up his wrestling and become more comfortable in the MMA world, I feel he will become the next dominate 170 champion.

Yeah. Training with Weidman seems to have helped his wrestling a lot. You have to feel bad for Rory a bit lol- he's clearly a top 5 if not top 3 fighter in the division and a very good fighter, but the division is so competitive he might not end up becoming champion. If he doesnt leave to join Bellator anyway ha.

Can't see Bisping lasting with Rockhold unfortunately. Another stoppage win for Luke.

Jesus, what a day of fights. Super happy for bisping, he deserves it as much as anyone.

What happens now at 185 though? Bisping/Rockhold 3? Bisping/ Weidman or Bisping/Jacare

Also, that Henderson v Lombard finish was nasty, good time for hendo to retire, he's got nothing left to prove

I think Bisping vs Jacare makes the most sense. Have Rockhold vs Weidman the fight that was supposed to happen. Bisping/Jacare winner fights Rockhold/Weidman winner.

I'm not sure what the UFCs plan is with Romero either he has the W over Jacare but he also pissed hot whether he did it knowingly or not I don't know if he jumps back to first inline with Romeros win over Jacare being a title eliminator

Bisping vs. Hendo 2
Weidman vs. Jacare.
Rockhold vs. Romero

Really happy for Bisping. Bloody bizarre watching it though. I don't know whether it was a complete fluke or what but still.

Big up to Bisping for winning the title he's been around for ages and probably should be retired now but has kept it going and now he is the champ! Hard work and Dedication :TU:

Definitely not a fluke. Bisping is a high level MMA striker without the high level power but Rockhold's defense was terrible and Bisping timed the first left perfectly then capitalized.

Most people, including myself, had Bisping down to lose and for Breese to eventually take the mantle for number 1 Brit but Breese ends up losing and Bisping shocks the world. Fantastic to finally have a British champ. Long overdue.

True. He came across horribly in the post-fight presser. I really believe he gets wound up by Bisping so much because Bisping has the only thing Rockhold is lacking, a personality.

I agree, luke always come across like he's forcing it. He's a right 'baw heed'. I couldn't stand him before the Weidman fight either. Was jumping off my seat when Bisping landed the second hook. Rock hold was so side on he never seen them coming...fantastic win for Bisping.

Missed the PPV because of a wedding, but I have to say I'm glad Bisping won. He comes off as a bit of a knob in interviews but the guy is a tremendously hard worker and it's good to see a underdog beat the odds once in a while. It also throws the division into a bit of chaos which is always fun. I'm hoping we get the following fights:

Bisping vs. Weidman
Rockhold vs. Jacare II
Romero vs. Mousasi/Brunson winner
Vitor vs. Machida
Whittaker vs. Henderson

This division has gotten tremendously interesting in a hurry.

I do believe that Jacare deserves the title fight next he lost to Romero in a close fight, Romero then pissed hot(his fault or not) he knocked out Belfort quickly. Weidman and Rockhold are both coming off losses with Weidman pulling out of yet another fight through injury, let them fight again.

If Weidman is out for an extended duration then I agree they should set up Bisping/Jacare, but last I heard Weidman would be back to training in July or August which would give him time to be on the first NYC card they're planning for November. Bisping/Weidman at MSG would be huge. I bet a good amount of English fans would fly over for that one.

If Weidman is out for a long period of time, I wouldn't be surprised if a rubber match is set for Rockhold/Bisping. Bisping is good, but I don't see him beating Weidman, Romero, or Jacare. However, I didn't envision him beating Rockhold either... So, who knows.

It was a good night of fights. Hendo really pulled on my emotions with that win. He deserves all the good that comes his way.

Even if he isn't out for an extended period Jacare should get the shot before him. He was beaten convincingly in his last fight, he ended up taking a beating. In the UFC you shouldn't get a title shot coming off a loss like that.
