There are countries around the world who ought be prepared to step up on this critical waterway as well. It’s not just the United States Navy,” said Hegseth. “Last time I checked, there was supposed to be a big, bad Royal Navy that could be prepared to do things like that as well."

He sounds upset with the Royal Navy. What happened to the "Special Relationship"?
We should send Andew Mount batten instead, they have a lot more in common.

I guess Hegseth's encyclopaedic knowledge of the Britsh Navy only goes as far as 1945. The British Navy has about four actual combat ships ready currently.

No disrespect to our valued posters on here but MOST Americans knowledge of the UK is based on the years 1650-1800.

There are clearly cultural and language etc links between us and the yanks but this idea of a special relationship is pure bollocks, America doesn't have friends it has interests, It's stitched us up loads of times since WWII, it invoked the Mahon act and wouldn't let us have the bomb even though we developed it alongside them, they didn't even want to give us Marshall Aid money until JM Keynes bluffed them and said the new incoming Labour government was full of commies and Britain would become an Ally of the Soviet Union if they didn't cough up, then there was Suez, TSR2, Black Arrow, even the Falklands, if it wasn't for 2 outspoken Anglophiles in Reagan's cabinet [James Baker and Casper Weinberger] they probably would have tacitly supported the right wing CIA installed junta in Buenos Aries in that conflict. Reagan even invaded Grenada where the Queen was head of state because they elected a socialist government.
Don't forget although Roosevelt did try his best to help us they only formally joined the fight against Germany after Hitler declared war on them. They made us pay for every single bullet we bought off them during the war too, took us the rest of the century to pay them off.

Hegseth indicates reopening the Strait of Hormuz is not a US objective and calls other countries to fight for themselves:

"We've been willing to lead, President Trump has led the entire time, but it's not just us. You might want to start learning how to fight for yourself."

Neti admitted another reason for the war starting.

To build and make Israel a super nation around the world.

What can Israel really do without US?

Even with the US, they’re getting battered.

War is always popular when you score 1st round knockouts, but it's looking like the US and Israel have really under estimated Iran. It also appears the minority of military analysts who said Iran has a larger more powerful inventory of missiles, many of which are well hidden, then was believed, may be the ones who are correct, as well as the ones who said the Drone Swarm may be able to create serious problems for the Iron Dome.

Now he's saying he's leaving Iran in 2 or 3 weeks and a deal is irrelevant  Someone on the radio was saying, if Trump was your dad and not the president of the free world, you'd be looking to take his car keys off him now.
