I saw Umar try and have it with Eddie the other day over Umar people a pussy with other promoters - I wish Umar showed that fire with everyone. He compliments them far too much and doesn’t push at all. I guarantee he’ll be super positive about Frank’s Avanesyan card and say how stacked it is etc.handsofstone wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:36 Anyone else see the clip of Fury saying he's glad Eddie never won purse bid because he couldn't pay for Kambosos/Lopez?![]()
Suffice to say Umar IFL Umar shat the bed and never pulled him on it
Yeh it's not that I think Eddie gets a particularly hard time from IFL in general, I'm all for probing questions, it's just that they don't push Frank or Bob nearly as hardmaverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:54I saw Umar try and have it with Eddie the other day over Umar people a pussy with other promoters - I wish Umar showed that fire with everyone. I think, to be fair to Eddie, he is generally more honest and open than Frank or Bob, so IFL know they can push a bit more.handsofstone wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 08:23Yeh it's not that I think Eddie gets a particularly hard time from IFL in general, I'm all for probing questions, it's just that they don't push Frank or Bob nearly as hardmaverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:54I saw Umar try and have it with Eddie the other day over Umar people a pussy with other promoters - I wish Umar showed that fire with everyone. Yeh that's true, still there's no excuse for being a pussy when it comes to burning questions, especially with all the skullduggery and accusations going on, if people are gonna lie or make claims then they need pressedBoxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 09:10I think, to be fair to Eddie, he is generally more honest and open than Frank or Bob, so IFL know they can push a bit more.handsofstone wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 08:23Yeh it's not that I think Eddie gets a particularly hard time from IFL in general, I'm all for probing questions, it's just that they don't push Frank or Bob nearly as hardmaverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:54

True but Eddie also loves to be In the spotlight...... he loves the attention..... Frank and Bob are more old school, predictably.Boxerbeetle wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 09:10I think, to be fair to Eddie, he is generally more honest and open than Frank or Bob, so IFL know they can push a bit more.handsofstone wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 08:23Yeh it's not that I think Eddie gets a particularly hard time from IFL in general, I'm all for probing questions, it's just that they don't push Frank or Bob nearly as hardmaverick23 wrote: ↑13 Feb 2022, 07:54

Early days of IFL Frank got his lawyers on to them as Frank wasn’t happy with what Barry Hearn said about him. Barry was on good form in that interview from memory - he said something like ‘Frank says that he drove me out of boxing….the only driving he’d ever do of me is as my chauffeur’.TheGun13 wrote: ↑14 Feb 2022, 10:25 Fury and Frank are the types to throw their toys out of the pram if they get any kind of vaguely challenging questions, so the iFL lads are probably worried about getting cut off.
Also iFL are backed by Kinahan, so are probably instructed to lick Fury's arse at every opportunity.
They issued Whyte a non standard purse bid contract (albeit one that was approved by the WBC). Whyte asked for standard one which he has now received.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑14 Feb 2022, 15:18 Frank has said Whyte is holding things up..
He has til the 19th to sign or they will move on.
He said Fury is fighting on April 23rd..
I think it’s clever by Whyte.
I don’t like it and to me it shows a weakness as he’s changing the way he’s conducting himself because of who is opponent us.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 03:59I think it’s clever by Whyte.
Fury would hammer anyone if they did the gloves are off stuff or press conferences and I can also understand him not wanting to help the promotion because of the way Warren has spoken about him in the past.
I like it, for now. DIllian knows if he's going to sign and he knows what he is going to do and what he isn't. FW and TF don't. If you can train hard and avoid all the press conference obligations and associated travel, interview rounds, etc you are in a position of strength IMO. Who wants to stand around for hours answering the same bone questions from the same dull people? Not many once the novelty has warn off.Dioufy wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 04:19I don’t like it and to me it shows a weakness as he’s changing the way he’s conducting himself because of who is opponent us.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 03:59I think it’s clever by Whyte.

I can see this fight not happening. Contracts aren’t even signed and the deadline is approaching.
Whyte seems a stubborn guy so maybe he thinks he will get more than 6mil fighting Usyk in 9 months.
Don’t think it will affect them, or not majorly. They’re taking their commission regardless and the fight will sell; it will get hyped after the contracts are signed as there will be obligations on press conferences, interviews, ect. It’s not like Fury can’t promote a fight on his own, as well.handsofstone wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 04:42 Can't stand Whyte personally but if his refusal to do any promotion will effect the WBC's income then I would give zero effort as well, he got royally fvcked over by them
Yh. If it was anyone else, he’d be all over it.Dioufy wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 04:19I don’t like it and to me it shows a weakness as he’s changing the way he’s conducting himself because of who is opponent us.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 03:59I think it’s clever by Whyte.

All of his other big fights would have had a % deal on the back end based on tickets/PPVs sold so I get why he talks more for them.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 05:31Yh. He won’t stay quiet at the presser when Fury digs into him.
TBH, I think the fight does decent numbers, regardless off how much they try and sell it. Of course promoting it more would be better.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 06:32All of his other big fights would have had a % deal on the back end based on tickets/PPVs sold so I get why he talks more for them.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 05:31Yh. Fury will try all he can, like he’s doing at the moment, to get a rise out of Whyte. I wonder if Whyte will even go to the press conference? I’d be surprised if he can avoid it during fight week but not sure whether he’ll be obliged to do an initial press conference.
If Whyte does nothing to promote it then Tyson will have to work hard for it as his deal will almost certainly be based on PPV numbers etc.
I’m sure it will do decent numbers over here but even a million buys and a decent gate doesn’t come close to paying the $41m or at least giving Fury his due share once the broadcasters take their cut etc.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 06:44TBH, I think the fight does decent numbers, regardless off how much they try and sell it. Fury did 400k UK buys at daft o clock alone against Wilder.
His fan base has grown huge since he fought Wlad in 2015 was it? That did around 500k UK buys.
Add in that Whyte can do around 200k-400k against semi decent non PPV fighters.
This will be prime time UK television and Fury’s first fight in the UK as world champion.
And depends on price in the US.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 06:53I’m sure it will do decent numbers over here but even a million buys and a decent gate doesn’t come close to paying the $41m or at least giving Fury his due share once the broadcasters take their cut etc.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Feb 2022, 06:44TBH, I think the fight does decent numbers, regardless off how much they try and sell it. Bob was talking 500k buys in the US on PPV. Fury is the biggest heavyweight name in the US but against Whyte who’s fairly unknown over there, outside of primetime and a week after another PPV I can’t see it doing 100k buys.
