At least he's getting credit for facing the wrecking ball that is Wilder.
How do you equate this argument Mickey? Pray tell?
Normally Wilder just gets dismissed as the worst boxer to have ever lived. There are literally dozens on here praying someone beats Wilder just to discredit Fury! They are obsessed. Nobody even cares about other threads, even Inoue and Crawford v Spence, just Tyson

There's no educating the Fury-fan-bois to the mug Fury is making them.
They still convinced he is a 100% Gypsy born in a caravan pulled from Ireland by the family horse .. not the fake born and raised in a house and mugging off everyone.
It's all Wilder this and Wilder that - but Wilder has done nothing of note except been able to knock over some 2nd and 3rd raters .. plus put Fury over a few times.
Yes boxing is a business - but our heroes also put back passion and respect into it. Fury just takes and takes.

In a carpark, in vests.

Try Wlad, mix it up a bit. The two longest standing heavyweight champions of recent times.

But, but, but...Ali had a crossover fight!!
The result meant no one had to lose face; Inoki could claim he would have won had it not been for the penalties, whereas Ali could defend himself by saying his opponent had cheated.[5] However, the fight was poorly received. The crowd at the Budokan threw rubbish into the ring and chanted "Money back! Money back!" Donn Draeger said of the response: "The Budokan janitorial people took almost a full day to clean up the garbage that was hurled at the two 'combatants' as the result of their lousy performance".
The MMA guys are, as in the name, normally required to have an all round mix of styles they need to learn. A bit of boxing, a bit of wrestling, takedown defence, jiu jitsu etc. Ngannou is basically a puncher with a takedown defence, so probably the closest in style to an actual boxer. However, it's a bit like a Decathlete taking on a 100m sprinter, or a long jumper, or any other world class specialist. They do the particular individual event to a certain level, but fall short of the elite standard.

Ali had 4 other fights that year as well though including Norton and Young, plus he'd already took on all comers, Fury's beat 2 champions over 7/8 years
He still did it. Pete Rademacher challenged Floyd Patterson on his pro debut, too.
I’m sure of Fury had a legit boxing match in Spring against ANYONE at least, then there would be less flack..
Now he’s not likely to fight a boxer until at least 2024.
Agreed. He is also boxing so late in Autumn ( 28th October) it basically knocks out any prospect of fighting Uysk in December or February, so that fight is never going to happen. Put simply, Fury doesn't want it to happen. He simply doesn't believe he can beat Uysk ( that must be obvious even to the thickest Fury fans).
He has been in hiding in plain site and a clear pattern has emerged.
1) Last August he said he would box Chisora again.
2) A nonsense offer was made to AJ which had no realistic prospect of being signed.
3) Then, enter his promoters to say: " no one else is available".
4) Fury boxes 40 year old Chisora ( lost 3 out of his last 4 fights)
Now:
1) Fury mentions Ngannou a lot.
2) A sh*tty offer was made to Uysk, bluff was called, so shifted the goalposts, and fight doesn't get made..
3)Enter his promoters, who tell us: " no one else was available to fight".
4)Fights Ngannou, someone with a 0 -0-0 professional record.
Fury has started to mention Jones a lot...so, it points towards his fans being treated to Fury vs Jones after Ngannou in another cross over fight (where the opponent has no chance).
These types of fights are dangerous to boxing and, most importantly of all, to the opponent who won't be able to defend himself. Really tragic, the whole thing.

Has some appeal if it's a genuine boxing match with UFC gloves. Otherwise forget it.

The hardest hitting human in history
Probably the hardest hitter as far as available participants are concerned. Meaning that I'm sure only a small percentage of people have ever truly been tested in such a way.
That being said, boxing power vs mma power is two different things. Even a statistically "feather fisted" boxer hits far harder than a guy on the street no matter how tough he is. Why? Technique, timing, muscle memory and punch form. Most boxers from childhood have been practicing punches. MMA guys haven't.

Ngannou has the boxing background, hasn't he? Anyway, he can hit hard, but overall he's mediocre for pro boxing.

FW has somehow managed to change the story to that it is Usyk who is the one ducking and that they tried their best to make the fight and Usyk didn't want it.
Talksport and others don't even bother picking FW up on this and let him get away with it.
Fury is the ducker and he should be stripped. That belt has been tied up long enough.
Unfortunately Whyte was his mandatory, so that is taken care of the belt for a while

Fury is playing us all for mugs
If he was fighting twice a year I would have no problem with this fight but this is his only fight this year
WBC is a cartel and not a boxing organisation IMO
Total joke to the sport or so called sport which is now more a business interested in profits
boxing is in a bad place
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Francis Ngannou - 28 October 2023
Floyd vs Conor was exciting? That was a joke aswell.

This combined with Derek Chisora last December isn't good - that was supposed to be the £££ for little risk tune up.
At least Floyd had beaten his long time geniune rival (albeit when both were past their prime) and it was either a case "starting again" with the young guns or one last cash cow. There was also some appeal as 1) it was a first and 2) McGregor had size and age on his side. Ngannou doesn't even have this.

Furys recent years....
-2023 is looking like a 1 (0) fight year with Ngannou (noone wants that..)
-2022 was Chisora III (noone wanted that) and Whyte (some wanted it)
-2021 was Wilder III (noone wanted that), great scrap though.
-2020 was Wilder II (everyone wanted that)
-2019 was dogshit
-2018 was good (well just the story and then fighting wilder)...
-2016 and 2017 vs UKAD/pints/cocain ect....
honestly, since 2015 fury has not given people much to look foward too. he stays relevent with his personality but honestly i think in the last 7 or 8 years he has booked 3 fights i was keen for (wilder 1,2, and whyte)....
crazy part is now people are saying whyte isnt worthy of fighting AJ in a rebuild....

Floyd fought loads of greats before he started titting about, Fury fought 1 long term world champ years ago and an average banger, if he had cleaned up the division or became undisputed people would say fair play, but this is just away to make money rather than risk it against Usyk, I think it was always on the cards, his old man was saying Ngannou was a tougher fight than Usyk way back when.

Bellew took to Twitter to respond to the announcement that the two big men are coming to blows in the boxing ring.
“Said this would happen months ago and people were calling me a hater! It’s great business and believe me people will watch it! HOWEVER someone making his professional boxing debut against the best heavyweight in the world is CRAZY! Read back what I’ve just said! MADNESS!”

It’s going to be funny watching people trying to hype this fight up. Is the WBC going to sanction it? Lol Probably a much better fighter is arguably the best heavyweight kick-boxer of all-time, Rico Verhoeven. He spars with Fury on occasion and admits to being completely humbled and just does it to learn some skills. Ngannou has no boxing grounding at all. Messed about in gyms in his mid-twenties and I’m not sure he even ever had an amateur boxing match. It’s just nuts to try and do this as a proper fight.
