I've said this before but if no one knew who trump was and you saw him in a restaurant, you'd think he was a drag queen. Real males don't look like that or have those mannerisms. So as the saying goes something much bigger is going on here.
If trump looked like a male, male MAGA would be easier to explain. If people didn't know who he was and he showed up at a bar in Alabama with the makeup and mannerisms, they'd beat the living shit out of him.

As an outside observer, I think the worst thing he is doing DOMESTICALLY is dividing his own country instead of bringing its people together and uniting the nation, as a leader should. People deserve better - Democrats, Republicans and everyone in between. Trump has demonstrated neither the will nor the ability to do so.
The thing is, Republicans don't want to unite anything, or work together. They reject everything that could make America a better place to live for the commoners. They play the political game to win at all costs. And that is only possible if you have a divided America. The division is not a bug, it's a feature of their political strategy.

Yes it would be nice if we had another FDR. Or an Obama. But 73 million Americans looked at the piece of human trash that Trump is and said "yepp, I want another four years of that instead of a black woman". I really have zero sympathy for Americans. Brainwashed idiots.

That's what my wife thinks and there's likely a lot of truth to it. It was revenge for Obama. But I also think there's a small minority of voters who voted for Obama and then voted for trump. I'm convinced at least 10% vote on entertainment only.
Regarding my above theory, I am not talking about every male trump voter. I am talking about the ones who tear up when he speaks or the guy who demanded to have a trump cutout by his hospital bed. Guys like that make all of LGBTQ look wholesome.

I absolutely agree with this. But it is more than the fact that he was black. He was black and well-spoken. If he was black and spoke like Jimmy Carter, or even Clinton, then they would've hated him less. But the fact that practically every speech was just so on-point, meant that his intelligence radiated from him in a way, that threatened a lot of people. Trump's ignorance and awkwardness and slurring of speech is a plus for the same segment of voters that hated Obama's class.

It certainly wasn't all, but there were some voters - likely mostly Republicans - who felt that way. Probably millions. Probably just like folks in some countries (including the US) who wouldn't vote for anyone with a Muslim-sounding name.
