Tommy Fury Wants To Return on Fury-Whyte Card, Then Face Jake Paul

Light heavyweight prospect Tommy Fury is eager to make his ring return on the undercard of his older brother's upcoming fight.

Fury's older brother, WBC heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, is scheduled to return on April 23. The likely opponent is mandatory challenger Dillian Whyte. And the likely venue is Wembley Stadium in London.

Tommy Fury (7-0, 4 KOs) was scheduled to fight back in December, against social media star Jake Paul (5-0, 4 KOs).

As the pay-per-view event drew closer, Fury withdrew with a broken rib and a chest infection.

He was replaced by former UFC champion Tyron Woodley, who was brutally knocked out by Paul.

Fury wants to return on the April card - and then hopefully face Paul by the end of the year.

"I'd like to see the fight happen back end of the year. I'm not really waiting around for him, he knows I'm here and I'm ready to fight at all times. I've put that out there countless times," Tommy Fury said to Sky Sports.

"I'm not the issue here, if we wanted to fight the man would have rescheduled date by now but the ball's in his court. I'm ready to fight whenever. I'd like to see the fight happen at the end of the year. I know Frank [Warren] is still trying to reach out to him and stuff like that.

"I do think the fight is still there because, he's no daft, who else is he going to fight? He's got nobody else to fight. This fight is the biggest fight for him to take at the minute and he knows that full well. But I think I'm looking to get a run out on Tyson's undercard next, that's the plan moving forward and then we'll try set that fight up at the end of the year."

Good grief. Are we going to get Whyte v Usyk (winner to face Joshua)?

I think it’s just mind games from Whyte, he’ll leave it right up to the very last moment then he’ll sign

That's what I think too but I will completely change my mind about him if it's not the case.

Got a feeling we will go to bed with Whyte announcement that he’s signed.
Then we wake up to a Fury vacating the belt statement.

Tyson Fury is not gonna vacate the belt.

There is not a man born from a womans pudendum that can beat him.

i'd rather see Whyte vs. Wilder tbh. Fury vs. Joshua/Usyk are the last two fights Fury needs before walking away. this Whyte fight would be lumbering fumbling fun maybe, but I can't see Whyte winning it.

Giving whyte an alternate to try get him to not sign WBC Seems a weird thing for eddie to manufacture out of nowhere, its only going to get him and matchroom hated. only thing i could see happen is if AJ has said he dosent want usyk next let whyte fight Usyk. But that would have to be signed by usyk and whyte before this deadline. because if whyte misses this deadline because then usyk will just fight Fury.

If AJ was going to fight whyte they would of taken the step aside, and i struggle to see whyte dropping WBC shot for a fight with Chisora or parker or anyone else in matchrooms stable.

I personaly still think whyte will fight WBC. but if not he better have a fuking good alternate to justify it with.

I don't believe Hearn would try steer Whyte away from a shot at the title, regardless of split percentages or whatever, maybe he has who knows but I'm thinking it's maybe mind games threw out there by Whyte and Eddie and they'll sign at 11th hour

Haha yeah like some midnight transfer deadline day deal where the fax is sent a minute too late.

He might be able to argue that the refusal to fight AJ that time was down to his principles or whatever but if he doesn’t sign now and has thus twice refused a shot at a world title for absolutely mega bucks then he’s a clown and he deserves all the criticism that will follow.

Let’s see what happens. I’d be surprised if Whyte doesn’t sign but if he doesn’t sign and fights Usyk then he’s done well as it’s a more winnable fight for him. Lots of ifs there though.

If he is leaving it until late in the day to sign then fair play too. Fury’s a master at mind games and Whyte doing things on his terms and getting Tyson to do all the promotion will harm Whyte’s chances.

Depends what he does instead for me. If it’s to slag off the WBC and fight Wallin then fully agree. If it’s to fight Usyk then it’s not a bad move for him.

I never knew Usyk was an option, wouldn't knock that but I still prefer Fury, either way anything other than a title fight deserves to be disowned

Usyk may not even be an option - just thinking what Whyte would be willing to turn down $8m for.

Agree - if he’s not fighting for a title next then it’s tough to come back from.

If Chisora can nearly beat Usyk then Whyte will KO him for sure 🇯🇲🙃

Chisora never nearly beat Usyk. Scorecards of 116-112 bang on but Usyk let Chisora win the 1st 4 rounds knowing he’d win the 8 after very very comfortably.
Usyk hardly did a thing for 12 minutes then turned up the gas and Derek had no chance.
Clear victory.
