Everytime I see this one of Johnson signing lefty I think of Gil Clancy's famous line, "All southpaws should be drowned at birth!"

Johnson had a long, successful career, thanks largely to the stoppage in the second Saad fight in his home city of Indianapolis. Saad was badly cut and just went on the assault, throwing punch after punch until Johnson went down by the ropes. He got up and would have been savaged again, possibly ruined, but the referee waved it off. A great call.

Terrble Terry Norris
Did anyone chat to Norris at the event, and if so, how is his speech?

Bennie
I talked to Norris for a few minutes. His speech is good. More or less normal. Not the most congenial chap on the Earth, but he's lucid. Perhaps his moodiness could be taken as maybe he has speech problems.

My old Principal grew up with Bobby in Pacoima. He told me Bobby was in a fight almost everyday. You'd look at him the wrong way and you were out in the alley fighting him. Now the only devil in him is that of a devilish child. In a peculiar way, with all the things he's been through,I think he's been blessed. He certainly seems very happy.

At the induction ceremony during the banquet, the pace was bogging down. The emcee,Tom Kelley was trying to pick it up. As each inductee was presented and then spoke,Kelley would hold the microphone in front of him like he was dictating the length of the speech. Johnson didn't go for that. He took the microphone out of Kelley's hand.
"It's my turn to hold the microphone."
No argument from Kelley.

Cheers, Rog. I remember his brother Orlin quitting shamelessly against Tyson at the end of the first round, claiming a bad knee. When it was obvious that Norris was not going to continue, they showed a shot of the crowd, and Vinny Paz could be seen among them, shaking his head.
I'm no fan of Paz, but one thing is for sure, Vinny never ever quit.
