I think Arguello just threw such beautiful, powerful punches and often in combination that just made him a joy to watch nearly every time out. The Olivares fight he got a bit if a shellacking until he landed a perfect punch. That was one of the better one's and as mentioned the Mancini fight is must see. I loved the Escalera fights especially the second one. Escalera was so tough and game but Arguello's class was on a different level.

Arguello is a lot quicker than people give him credit for.

Yes, Tito had great hands, excellent power, accuracy and timing and slow feet. I'd add that Tito's feet got sloppier over time whereas like I said, I think Arguello's form was fine (with footwork) just that they were slow.

Definitely worth it I'd say mainly just for the stadium aspect. I'm not massively into the fight even though I'm high on both fighters. Just a shame there's a divide stopping the two fights we really want those guys in.

I'm still debating whether to go to this Wilder-Fury fight but am leaning more and more towards yes. It could be an absolute shit show from an early KO or a 12 round snooze but the idea that I can't even imagine what it will look like intrigues me.

I'd go if I was there. Lot of fighters on the undercard worth seeing live. Fury will be out cold in a round or two. I much prefer watching at home to being there, but damn near $100 for either fight at home irritates me.

Evander Holyfield vs Riddick Bowe I

A one of my most favorite fights of all time. An epic slugfest with an impressive display of skills, what can be better? The fight appeared to be very close in its first half, Holyfield and Bowe began to brawl early and for the first time Holyfield didn't seem frustrated by Bowe's significant size advantage. Evander was quicker early. In the mid-rounds Holyfield began slowing down, Riddick took over. Evander although didn't break, he was still having his moments, even after he was rocked by Bowe's uppercut in the 10th with a following barrage of punches. Holyfield almost returned a favor closer to the round's end. In 11th though Riddick was finally able to knock Evander down, but still Holyfield didn't allow Bowe to stop him.

Alexis Arguello vs Alfredo Escalera 1+2


Arguello stops Escalera in the 13th on a cut eye to become World Super Featherweight champ, excellent fight, high end action and real quality from both men especially Arguello who just oozes class in every punch, never worked the body much as id seen him do before but the jabs were sharp, the right cross's were crisp and the left hooks were hurtful, he had Escalera down in the 2nd with a left hook counter which tagged Escalera steaming in, he always seemed to be a bit better in every department than Escalera who was good too but just that step or 2 behind, Escalera probably had his best round in the 12th, nailing Arguello with a right hand and following up trapping him on the ropes but in the 13th the ref broke the action to call the doc over to check the bloody Escalera when it was stopped


Arguello stops Escalera again in the rematch to retain his title and again it was in the 13th round but this time it was more clinical than just a cut which finished off Escalera, Arguello had him down 4 times en route, Escalera started off the rematch much better than last time and seemed to be in control until the 4th when Arguello dropped him with a left hook counter similar to the shot that dropped him in the first fight, the same shot had Escalera down in the 5th then a right hand sent him crashing into the ropes for a standing count in the same round, Escalera was game though and hurt Arguello with a left in the 7th which sent him on his heels where Escalera unloaded combinations and in the following rounds it was Escalera who looking the better man while Arguello tired, in the 13th though just after Escalera had hit Arguello clean with a few right hands, out of nowhere Arguello caught him with that left hook which decked Escalera for the final time, Escalera did get up but collapsed into the corner with jelly legs when it was stopped, great fight and even better than the first

Alexis Arguello vs Rafael Limon


Arguello stops Limon on a cut in the 11th to retain his World Super Featherweight title, excellent all action fight, Arguello never had things all his own way, Limon was game as fvck, his aggressive southpaw style gave Arguello plenty to think about and he was nailed clean several times throughout, Limon threw great combinations and had a lot of success in spurts, Arguello showed his class too but wasn't at his best, as the fight moved into the 9th/10th Limon began to tire and Arguello piled on the pressure hitting Limon with some big shots, the ref waved it off in the 11th because Limon was a mess, the way the fight played out you wouldn't have ruled out Limon turning things back around but in the end Arguello got the TKO

I liked that fight as well. Jefferson vs Maskaev is a good one too. Etinenne don’t hold back at all. He’s gotta to be raping mad dudes in the showers in prison. Pretty sure he is serving life.

Riddick Bowe vs Evander Holyfield II

Both came heavier, than in the first fight, but Holyfield was bulked up, while Bowe gained some extra-weight. Bowe was considered not to take that fight seriously enough, which seemed true. Evander was more ready. Bowe jumped at Holyfield early, but Holyfield weathered the storm and established his rational game. At first Bowe was jabbing good though, in the early rounds Riddick outjabbed Evander, but closer to the mid-rounds Holyfield looked absolutely more successful. Evander was able to establish his rational boxing from the range and was frequently landing good combnations. Some say, the fanman in the 7th round helped him, but Evander was looking dominant before that moment and the following time-out. After that the fight gradually became more intense though and Holyfield was generally outfighting Bowe. Holyfield edged the bout and took a MD win.

I love that fight. I miss Manny Steward. He was a joy to listen to in that fight in the round Toney put Jirov down. "Oh my GAAAAWWWWD!”

Shannon Briggs vs Darroll Wilson. Briggs comes out winging but seemed to get discouraged when Wilson didn’t quit. Great ending. It’s why heavyweights are fun to watch.

Andrew Golota vs Samson Pohua. Two guys with some heavy hands. When Golota was still undefeated. He moved very well for a big man. Most of his fights or entertaining.
