Re: Chris Eubank Jr. vs. Conor Benn | DAZN PPV - 8 October 2022

I wonder how much longer we are going to have to wait for news
Doubt anyone will hear much at all from now on , then in 6 months after a hiatus , he'll declare he's back and even though the bbbc have not banned him he's lost 6 months of his training , 6 month of his life , the mental health problems he suffered through the whole torrid affair even though he was innocent , because there was only one sample that was tainted , but the anguish and embarresment nearly killed him , nearly broke his marraige , and now after his self imposed ban of 6-7 months he's ready to prove to the world he does'nt need drugs and he's taking Eubank on at 160 to prove he does'nt even need weight loss agrreements , and he does'nt give a rats arse what people say because the bbbc did'nt ban him and that proves his innocence . .
ah, exactly, I mean if you've only known him 2-3 years then I could see the suspicions of PED use, but come on, since when did anyone ever, who was ever known by anybody else for 6-7 whole years, ever be on the gear? It's just unthinkable, and not just that, but I mean Eddie himself has known him and, well, subjective impressions of people's guilt-or-innocence, they're the only way to go, really, all this stuff about evidence, it's so overrated, they do their tests and they have their test tubes and their science, but really, you tell me, how can that be a more reliable method of detecting a drug cheat than just asking someone who's known them a few years if they think they are a drug cheat, and not just that, but can you even think of a more reliable source than someone completely trustworthy and honest and frank and someone with nothing to gain by lying and someone with a long track record of absolute candour and honesty, I mean like Eddie I mean, which we call him 'Mr no-vested-interest, just-giving-my-very-honest-opinion here' Hearn nowadays, what with his reputation for total candour and honesty and never contradicting himself or ever obviously speaking with a forked tongue how the hell could, like, science and laboratories and test tubes compete with that? you tell me.
I’m with you. If this does get swept under the carpet (which I think it will) boxers, pundits and fans should be up in armsSpud wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 07:42 If people are right and this scandal is swept under the carpet it will be truly disgusting.
Unless I misheard Eddie hints at “small” traces and also hints that Conor is innocent.
FFS … am I being extremely thick, if so please, please enlighten me, but regardless of how small the traces were, wtf are traces of a female drug doing in a male sportsman urine test.
As a genuine boxing fan I imploring the BBBofC not to let this high profile case to be merely forgotten about.
I used to love boxing and simply will never forgive those charged to regulate our sport to accept no comment” as an acceptable answer.
There some fantastic shows coming up between now and xmas … again I really hope the BBBofC show some balls.
Worse still will Team Benn try the “we want an applogy” line again?Deserter wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 08:58 Hearn's entire defence falls apart for me when he tries to attest to it being impossible to game the system in terms of testing, when we all know it's possible through cycling, masking etc. Shame he wasn't challenged on that point as it doesn't stand up to any scrutiny.
They are going to try every trick in the book to get out of this one, there's no doubt about that - this is just the start, expect a full PR offensive in the coming weeks now they've had time to construct a narrative.
The radio silence to date is because Hearn and co have had to plan how to diffuse this. I suspect there will have been 3 tracks to this:Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 09:05 What’s actually going on now in the background?
What is everyone even doing?

Scientific - turning over every stone to undermine the positive test... you're seeing this already with talk about 'traces' and about other tests being negative. Aim will be to make the positive look like an outlier and less significant than it first seemed.
Legal - Will argue due process hasn't been followed etc in a bid to muddy the waters further and cast Benn as the victim rather than the perpetrator.
Emotional - "not the type to do this...', 'not treated fairly', 'sacrifices he's made' etc, etc. Again, it's about casting Benn as the innocent victim in all of this.
Takes time to build the PR narrative around these 3 pillars, but rest assured that's what will have been going on behind the scenes over the past few weeks. now it's time for attack as the best form of defence, hence Hearn starting to engage publicly again, he'll have been briefed on what to say and how to say it... and he'll stick to the script.
Sadly we already know the playbook, Canelo's positive being a perfect example of this.
And there you go... expect this to be followed by an 'official announcement' questioning the science behind the positive IMO.Spud wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 09:33https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/boxin ... press.htmlDeserter wrote: ↑26 Oct 2022, 09:29The radio silence to date is because Hearn and co have had to plan how to diffuse this. Eubank hates promotors and feels they did him dirty and do boxers dirty.Syntax Error wrote: ↑25 Oct 2022, 09:22He seems very keen to claim that Benn isn't a cheat.
Only Benn knows how traces of a female fertility tablet ended up in his system.
Chris Eubank Sr's incessant waffling isn't going to change that fact.
