Funso mate I was at both of those nights that you mention & yes the were great nights but in this one we are talking about a bunch of hasbeens against a bunch of neverwasers The first heavy comp contained young boxers who had ambition. the lightheavy one which Oakey won had controversy with the guy that won the semi suddenly finding that he had lost which was never fully explained to the crowd. But I'll be there probablly the one in a corner moaning

Um, yeah. I felt safe when I went to York Hall for the last Prizefighters. There wasn't any trouble.

why are you knocking prizefighter if uv been before and admit they were great nights?
the only name on the bill i can do without is Belshaw.
i would have tried to get Carl Baker or Mark Krence in
as for the others...its perfectly fine
the mix of boxers is pure Prizefighter
like i said previously Holden hasnt fought for a while but neither had Simkin and Butlin and they got thru to the semis with a mixture of grit and experience.
sexton had lost his 0 to chisora prior to his prizefighter
ovil was a 60-1 no hoper
this all works for prizefighter.
why the knocking ? (unless its about the ticket hike)

I'm not knocking prizefighter as a whole just this line up, as I think someone else has already posted the format should be for up & coming boxers not those having their last throw of the dice.
It would not be to hard to put together 8 boxers from the bottom half of the top twenty that would provide competitive action, a mix of some who have already been in this comp & some taking their first steps there's my list
Tom Dallas 6/0
Larry Olubamiwo 4/1
Scott Mitchell 5/1
Danny Hughes 6/0
Dave Ferguson 9/2
Chris Burton 14/1
Scott Belshaw10/2
Tyson Fury 7/0
I put Tyson in for his crowd pulling where as the rest have local surport Tyson's presence would make sure TV stay on side,It might not be full of household names but as a boxing fan it's the sort of compertition I would rather see.
As regards ticket prices your talking to a guy who spent 5,000 taking my eldest son to Vegas for Hatton's last effort so as they say in the states £40/50 small potatoes

I'm sorry, but there's no way Tyson Fury would take part. A promoter can't just magic a list; they have to get the boxers to agree to be involved and sign a contract.

Funso mate how is putting Fury in my line up giving myself away I explained that I put him in for his selling power & say what you like about him he has caught the publics notice & with that line up he would start favorite £ 32,000 must be more than he's drawing for down the bill fights.Anyway it's dead easy to critize lets see your alternative list if you have the imagination to put one together

you think fury will attract more interest than Danny Williams/ michael sprott and audley and gammer ?
plus the fans that pay to watch Fury and khan are a different type of boxing crowd completly .....
im happy to not join them
as for fury ...hes got a stupid name ..thats the only reason hes 'caught the public interest'
and its going to take more than knocking out a bald midget german in a kilt to erase the footage of him nearly knocking himself out !!!!

"Racial undertone"? Don't go accusing people of stuff like that based on nothing.
"Boxing is for all"?

Horse there is a big difference between asking a question & accusing if you read again you will see that I said (Do I) Not I do

Asking that question constitutes an accusation in my opinion.
You can write what you want though, I just don't like to see that sort of thing.

We are all entitled to an opinion mate but it certainly was not meant as an accusation I'm far to long in the tooth to go accusing people without overwelming evidence white hoods & burning crosses might be enough

I agree Boxrec lets give the guy a break he's only had 7 fights while not comparing him with the real Tyson it's interesting to see that at the same stage Iron Mike was Ko ing the likes of Larry simms with the enviable record of 3/16 at least Scott Belshaw was 10/0 when Fury took him on. I see that Mathew Ellis a former Fury victim just lost to Lance Whitaker in the states maybe a good career move for Fury would be to get himself over there for some tougher fights.
We will know more of his potenial after the McDermott fight

Belshaw was 10-1 when he fought Fury, he had avenged his loss though.

I think at this stage a trip to the states would be more for American exposure, rather than facing tougher fighters. There are plenty of domestic and European fighters that would give him a tough fight.

I don't know if this has already been posted (I couldnt see any posts) but here's the lineup for the next heavyweight prizefighter
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/boxing/8224530.stm .
List of competitors for Prizefighter Heavyweights III: Coleman Barrett (Galway, Ireland), Scott Belshaw (Lisburn, Northern Ireland), Scott Gammer (Pembroke Dock, Wales), Audley Harrison (London), Michael Holden (Manchester), Danny Hughes (Sunderland), Michael Sprott (Reading), Danny Williams (Brixton).
Who wins it?

I honestly think that Audley will win it - this is his last, last, last etc. etc. chance. He could have beat Rogan when they met, if he had just went for it and look what Martin did to Skelton subsequently.
I wouldn't put money on it though, with Audley you just never know.
