well if it was a sawn off I'd expect you to be no more than a yard away which is within striking range. If it's long barrelled then you'd be further away which is where the jiu jitsu comes is as that gives several take down options followed by face pummelling.

If you could let me know if you are right, or left handed, as that would also make a difference.
