Most of what you just posted about Showtime and HBO is complete garbage. If you are going to post something as fact you really need to check first.

What a penis you are. You water this forum down with your total lack of knowledge.

What channel was Hatton vs Tszyu broadcast on in America ? or Tyson vs Holyfield ?

You ever heard of Jimmy Lennon jr? well guess what his catchphrase is?

Hatton wasnt a massive name when he fought tszyu it was the wins against tszyu and mausser that got him voted ring fighter of the year and catapulted him into stardom world wide, he then went to HBO, plus that was nearly 6 years ago. Wow i take it back Showtime hosted the rematch of Tyson v Holyfield 13 years ago whoopdee do. Tyson was with showtime when he got out of prison and had gone downhill and mental and then guess what HBO picked him back up again for the lewis fight (you remember the big money one that showtime lost because lewis was signed to HBO).

You can say what you like the facts are there - will mayweather v pac be on showtime or HBO?

What about pac v clottey or PBF v Mosley?

Thats the top 3 biggest fights happening this year.

showtime gets the up and coming fighters before they go to HBO and the downhill fighters after they've finished at HBO or European fighters who havent got the pull to make it onto HBO.

I notice you froch lovers are starting to grasp at strawers.

Lewis - Tyson was live on both HBO PPV and Showtime PPV. It was the first time ever. You don't seem to know much at all pal.

Yeah that's why they had both Buffer and Lennon Jr doing the introductions.

Holyfield-Tyson 2 was on Showtime.
Many of the current best boxers started on Showtime - Hatton, Guzman, Cintron, Chagaev, Juan Diaz, Corrales, Castillo, Pavli, Yuri Foreman, Paul Williams, Darchinyan, Berto, Donaire, Dirrell, Vazquez, Marquez, Juanma, Arreola, Bradley, Ward etc etc.

Froch will earn plenty for the Super Six, and has got a hell of a lot more exposure in the US compared to David Haye.
Remember Calzaghe and Hatton started on Showtime

I dont hate showtime its a great channel for boxing but it is what it is, calling it poxy was a big harsh but for US boxing figures its not very big, getting millions of viewer in the US isnt the same as getting millions of viewers in the UK.

Naming two big fights from yester year doesnt make it better than HBO, yes the fights maybe good but its the equivalent to ITV 4 for boxing, in the most part its the place fighters start out before they can command a sky / HBO or box office fixture, i notice noone has shown the viewing figures for the Taylor fight yet.

Ok so lewis v tyson was on hbo and showtime ppv my bad - who got the most buys and who got the most money?

Its all very well saying froch is better known in the US than Haye but he's been a world champion alot longer (not including cruiser weight), we all know if / when Haye demolishes Ruiz he will be massive in the US and he's big in the UK - alot, lot bigger than froch.

I dont like froch he's arrogant but has nothing to back it up with.

Kingfinn,

Its fully appreciated that everyone is entitled to their opinions - however your point concerning Froch "having nothing to back it up with" is a tadge foolhardy to come out with - Froch has beaten everyone put in front of him despite the criticisms of people like yourself!!! :o In addition he is boxing in perhaps the most ambitious and prestigious tournament ever undertaken by World Professional Boxing!!! - to say he has nothing to back it up with surely is incorrect and stupid to state.

I think that's a bit of an over-statement. The hometown advantage for Ward in all his fights, the absence of Bute and the WBO champion, plus the way a promoter got to replace his own boxer with another from his camp, plus the lack of a high profile venue for Froch-Kessler have all had big negative effects on the Super Six already.

Gobbles,

Here is another promoter in Meaty Mick Hennessy coming in for criticisms yet he managed to negoitiate the tournament for Froch and some rather attractive pay days!!! - and watch the hype increase if he can progress.

And with regards the tournament - masterstroke for all those involved and whilst I admit - this all depends on Froch's progression - if he keeps winning and with the backing of the press for a change - the move to Primetime could be a gamble worth taking.

I do think the round robin style of the tournament was a gamble and so far, doesn't seem to have quite paid off.

Kessler after quite a sustained beating gets an immediate world title fight. Jermain Taylor off back to back defeats would have got a world title fight against the #1 fighter if he chose to continue.... and there could be lots of issues as we enter the last "group" stage.... lets hope their not, lets hope no fighter who wins by KO in the final group round is eliminated - especially if they win a world title - it could only confuse things more!

Hasn't captured the imagination like DK's 80's heavyweight tournament.

I think tounaments need to be knock out in nature but then you have issues of seeding. This way is 'fairer' I suppose

Well it might not work this way, say Dirrell loses to Abraham and then KO's Ward and is out of the tournament (is it Ward he is fighting last). He could be WBA/WBC champion and out of the tournament - really hard to convince the public the winner of the tournament is the #1 in the division then.

I think aslong as the winners fight each other a knockout tournanment then works. Even though the expected names didn't happen in the 1980's DK heavyweight tournament.... it did reveal a conclusive winner.
