Was in Cardiff to watch my Bro fight Tony Doherty and was in town between pubs with my mate and saw a team of white and gold Tracksuits wandering about the Town , it was Alex Arthur out Killing some time before his fight.

Had a chat with him and he was decent enough fella

Some great stories. Loved the Tyson one in St Helens and Joshua Clottey running up the steps in Philly.

I've met many top fighters. Randomly the one that springs to mind was bumping into Joe Calzaghe in Cardiff he was drinking in a bar i went into i was half cut and had to go over and say hello. we were chatting away and as i say i'd had a few drinks and asked him about his chi (he's been down against Mitchell & Bike i think) i even tapped his chin. he was good as gold.

I met Tyson after Oscar-Sturm in the MGM so not really random. I was completely star struck lol

Not really random but pretty cool all the same i was in Tepic, Mexico last year for JCC Jnr-LaHouiller and though LaHoillier lost he took me and my father out to a few bars and we all got pretty smashed. He was a class act, we still speak from time to time.

On the same trip Robert Garcia & Brandon Rios took me and my father for lunch where we talked Boxing for ages. They were both really cool guys.

I work at heathrow airport and managed to get my picture take with David Haye after he beat valuev, he was with Booth and Groves, had a quick chat with Groves too.

I shared a lift with Mike Tyson at work as well, I let him go before me and he said "Thank you very kindly" - made my week!

Also saw Joe Calzaghe walk past me the other day.

Met Lennox lewis at a weigh in for one of his early fights in Sheffield. Was chatting with Paul silky jones who I went to school with, this was a few years before he won his world title. As i was coming out of the club, two boxers joined lewis, it was johnny nelson and a young naseem hamed. So there I was walking alongside these guys on a quiet Sunday morning in Sheffield, Lennon, johnny, naz and me.

Forgot to mention Ryan Rhodes at a department store I worked at and naseem hamed again at the same place. It was shortly before his last fight against calvo. I spoke to naz that time for about 10 mins. The guy just looks straight through you, but he seemed a decent kid. I also bumped into Richard dunn in Malaga on a family holiday when I was about 13 years of age

I lived in Scarborough when I was a teenager (80s/early 90s) and saw Paul Ingle out and about every now and again. Recall seeing him in his Barcelona Olympics tracksuit down some pubs just after the games. Spoke briefly with him in a club in Scarborough about 6 weeks before his fight with Billy Hardy...he walked past and I said hello. He didn't seem to hear me so my sister said something about me liking the boxing and we had a brief chat. Can't remember what I said but I was at pains not to return a handshake as he had a fight coming up. Think I saw Ken Norton in Vegas before Ayala-Tapia II in 2000.

Saw John Fashanu in a pub in B'ham once and he looked extremely hard and ripped!

About 10 years ago I saw Johnny Nelson with his wife shopping inside the Corn Exchange in Leeds - he was absolutely freaking huge.

Walking along the Southbank I ran into David Haye before the Monte Barrett fight, I didn't speak to him and he had a camera crew following him, but shook his massive hand which crushed mine. Another big bloke.

Lastly I necked a glass of wine with Joe Calzaghe a few months ago - asked him what it was like to fight Roy Jones. He said 'not as bad as making a c'nt of myself on Strictly Come Dancing', which amused me.

You know Haye flew into Stansted after his fight with Valuev don't you? He was about 10 rows behind me on the plane and we even arrived at the terminal from the gate on the same shuttle train.

i was struck by how massive nelson was in the flesh. absolutely humungous hands.

It wasnt straight after the fight, he was flying to vegas for the pacquiao cotto fight, which happend after his fight with valuev

Not a boxer , but i thought i'd add this one because it makes me laugh when i think back.

Last summer was in local beach carpark waiting in queue, person in front of me was Melvyn Hayes (Gunner 'Gloria' Beaumont) , my mate rang his mother on his phone and when she answered he said "Cor, it ain't half hot mum"

I think we found it funnier than Melvin, who just gave us a depairing look.
