I'll fight whoever they get mate, im not one to pick and choose. Crolla did say after his last fight that he is coming down to Feather, which makes the fight a possibility. But then I seen an interview with him the other day though saying he wants Sykes if he wins so?! we'll see where that goes. Like I said...I wouldnt call out names, just looking forward to being stepped up

Talk is Tony Dodson is ahead in the polls, talk is he wins the battle of Liverpool, talk is he snatches the British super-middleweight title from Paul Smith in the city next Friday (March 12).
Talk is cheap.
The 29-year-old Dodson dredged up a mighty effort a year ago in an attempt to win the same title against yet another strong, thumping Scouser, Tony Quigley, but he still came up short – just short – in a bloody, up-and-down thriller. Smith proceeded to outpoint Quigley for the title in a close but disappointing maul. Quigley-Dodson was so much better that Liverpool boxing fans, arguably the most vocal in the Universe, now fancy Dodson to dredge it up again. As one said, perhaps too vocally, “Quigley-Dodson was class; Smith-quigley was poor - that's Smith.”
Smith has never been to war. He received a nice, slow and some would say gentle build-up as a former ABA champion and Commonwealth Games silver medalist when he turned pro in 2003, reeled off a host of quick wins, took part in one match in the much-hyped Contender series in the States, a five-rounder he won before departing the series due to injury, and climbed off the floor to defeat Wolverhampton strongman Conroy McIntosh in an eight-rounder in 2006 in Barnsley, although it was hardly a comeback of Holmes-Shavers II proportions. Smith, as he did against Quigley, conserved his energy and put in the better finish to edge out McIntosh. His steady, self-assured, determined, wear-you-down approach cost him his only defeat against grizzled old Coventry southpaw Steven Bendall, who nicked a 10-rounder for the English middleweight title in Birmingham in 2008. Bendall was the ‘fall guy’ that night on a F rank Warren promotion, Smith’s promoter. “Smigga” looked unlucky but failed to go out and really ‘grab’ the belt. He moved up to super-middleweight afterwards.
By contrast Tony is quick, sharp and dangerous, the more dynamic of the two, but the fact remains he gave it everything against Quigley and, ahead on points, ran out of steam spectacularly in the 12th and last round and found himself stopped. You wonder how much the effort, the vain, heartbreaking effort, has taken out of Dodson, who suffered bad cuts and hasn’t fought since. A lot, I would say. He could certainly have done with a loosener.
The 27-year-old Smith is fresher than Dodson and will have gained from the Quigley 12-rounder, in my opinion, a bruising if hardly draining affair which ‘brings on’ a man, a new champion.
Smith biffs away to the body and grinds out a late-round stoppage.

I hope Smigga and his pals do not come on here stating b*llocks about being world class if he beats Dodson.

Lets face it this clash between Dodson and Smith is an excellent domestic clash - but thats it - whoever wins in my opinion is nowhere near fringe world class or otherwise and sooner or later I hope Smith comes up against someone who will prove my point - lets hope its Dodson - alas I think them later rounds are where he may get caught out.

Quglley - smith was only a poor affair dependant on what type of boxing you like. Granted it wasn't an explosive encounter, but tactics played a large part in what unfolded, and they proved to be the correct ones, as paul had plenty in the tank to keep coming until the end.
People seem to have the idea that because smith hasn't been in any "wars" that this is a bad thng. This is a good thing, because to be honest the recent " wars" dodson has been in, he has lost. He may be bigger, but to be fair this isn't something that is going to work massively in dodsons favour, if anything, this will make it easier for smith to wrk away at the body, which i think is going to be the key to the win for smith. i will state again, i think tony will make this a hard fight, but i just dont think he has enough left in the tank to pull off a win, and smith, although he has performed below what he is capapble of, is being underestimated by a number of peple, dodson himself i feel, with his comments about i will bully smith etc.

anyway we will see come the 12th.

Who do you think Nel?
Hey Swifty. I think Smith maybe on points but I think everyones writing Dodson off too much. If he kept his defence up in the last minute of his fight with Quigly he'd have beat him. So I think It'll be closer than most people think.

The reason I asked was.....yet another new user, posting straight away about Dodson. Then u say Smith will win....yet u pick Dodson in your predictions league  :OhYes: Cover up  :TU:
