I've never heard Danny say anything on the subject as far as I know. He keeps himself to himself, and is probably enjoying retirement these days!

You suggested that extremist groups are very intellectual.

I would rather be the one asking how that was so, than the one making that comment.

People might agree or disagree with your views, thats all good discussion.

The issue is when people deny others the right to express those opinions, with absurd suggestions such as "If you don't like it, leave the country" etc.

We live in a democracy and if he wants to stand on a street corner voicing his displeasure then let him. Those of us against the war were were allowed to march freely through the streets of London voicingour grievance too. Last time I looked it wasn't against the law!
I havnt stated its against the law - it seems you and others are trying desperately to drum up some sort of controversy here in your desperate attempts to validate Smalls views - yes he has a right to express them, yes he has the right to demonstrate against our armed forces and government - but my post in this thread was designed to show you how much he has changed with regards to how contradictory his views have become regarding our Armed Forces - yes he has a right to change his opinion as I do often enough - but to change those viewpoints so radically in such a relative short space of time is alarming to say the very least.
My post wasn't an answer to yours Spud otherwise I would have said, and i don't come on here to 'desperately' drum up anything.

Ali`s main reason for not going was the money he would potentially lose. There was as much chance of Ali being sent to the front line as it was him flying fighter jet planes ...

He is on interviews arguing his case to stay out of the army, stating the money his fights would generate would buy plenty bombs to drop on the viet cong ... its all there to be archived if anybody can be bothered.

He just built upon the gullible publics view that it was about him `having no quarrel with the viet-cong` as he realised it would keep him in the public eye so too make him a comfortable living also..

So for Small to try to hide behind this ... ... just shows he is an even bigger idiot than he has already shown himself to be

As for our boys fighting for queen and country or the money ... truth is their fighting for their mates out there with them.
I have read everything about Muhammad Ali - and I have never read anywhere that his stance on Vietnam or being a muslim was anything but genuine. I am a bit thick so could you show me these links (from the man himself - not some two bob 'biographer' or one of his grabbing sidekicks) where Ali said he refused the draft for monetary reasons.. :TU:
Thats the great thing about reading books on famous people ... things always seem to get distorted or simply forgotten ;;-) There are book that say Ali threw his Olympic medal into the river in disgust ... then there is the interview with his father that said Ali had the medal for many many years and actually wore the gold plating off it because he handled it so much over the years ...

There was an Ali bio on one of the Sky channels some time ago .. it has no doubt been repeated many times before and since .. where Ali says what I have wrote .. maybe not word for word .. but to the same meaning.

As said. If you take the time to look for it, you will find it. Books don`t really compare to the persons actual spoken words my friend.. :TU:

How are the soldiers fighting/dying for our freedom?

err dear chap without oil you are fucked.

the oil out the ground doesnt just go to gasoline dear chap. thats a small proportion of a barrel, nearly everything you own or see has an element of oil in it or oil or its by products are involved in its manufacture. Bin bags for example. Many plastics are oil derivitives. That aside from the heating, electricity, industry that falls flat on its arse with no oil. Trust me MOGAS (as it is known petrol as you know it) isnt even 6% of the oil industrys market.

This aside the world economy goes tits up witout oil. And trust me that will make the last recession look like a fornicating day at the beach.

The funny thing with these politicians is that they come out with all this bullshit about "making the world a safer place" to justify their wars for natural resources when infact they could come out and say "Right we are in the middle east to secure valuable natural resources so that you can continue to live the way you do otherwise if we don't then we'll all be living in mud huts with none of the luxury you see today and next we'll be moving on to South America" and I guarantee you that they would get a lot more support from the general public than with this "We're clearing the world of terrorists" "We're giving these poor people a chance of democracy" blah blah blah.

Never read or heard anything where Ali says anything other than his convictions about Vietnam and Islam were genuine. If I have to 'take time' to find what he said on something that was a pivotal role in shaping his career and him as a person - I am sure I would have come across it by now or it would be that bit easier to find - anyhow - if I do come across it - I will comeback on here and stand corrected. :TU:

I think that if the transition isn't handled well, you can be sure plenty of people will die, look how many have died in Iraq and Afghanistan. it will only get worse if everyone is fighting for resources.

in answer to the questions (wrists ill come to you last mate)

HORSE, FUCKED = COLD STARVING AND DYING ...
yes they probably can be made by different in the same way you all have electric cars right? What you dont? Why is that then?
More expensive, not as good and generally makes life more difficult.

Until the end consumer does something about energy nothing will change.

Will we all die? Probably not our generation but unless something is done soon you can pretty much expect mad max ii to become reality one day.

Do you know who the biggest investors in renewable fuels are? Oil companies..that says enough doesnt it...I know i work for one.

Wrists yes mate all the super 8 games and the final..i was rude and obnoxious to our antipodean cousins for which I offer no apology..."Dame edna everidge, Rolf Harris, Stevie Irwin, Skippy the fackin kangaroo your boys took a hell of a beating"

that got me about 75 programmes from the aussie contingent at the back. :OhYes:
