no doubt joe gallagher and arnie farnell both have their supporters - this is a good thing.

on forums, sometimes one guy gets praise at the other's expense and this has happened both ways.

surprises me though that some are focussing so much on murray's failure to make 135 by a slim margin. and totally overlooking the great nights joe's fighters have already had. murray stopping meager, mcallister, lawton, thaxton, buckland AND kudriavtsev. macklin's blowouts of elcock and asikainen in which he won british and commonwealth titles in successive fights. anthony crolla's stoppages of michael brodie and andy morris (before he's even won a major title). would hate to see what is said about joe if he doesn't get the result...boxing is a tough, hermetic business, up and comers & new faces aren't exactly welcomed with open arms. yet he's already gone way past being and up and comer given the champs h's trained.

no dount crolla is a sensational natural talent. and no doubt he was thrown in a bit early vs sykes and no doubt he's matured and grown physically. but can anyone argue that he's not on the best form of his career right now? L10 sykes last year, TKO7 sykes this year? doesn't take a brain surgeon to see which is better...granted everyone matches up differently, but it's a nice comparison as sykes and morris were pretty much level when they fought this year.

hopefulyl one day joe and arnie are in opposite corners. maybe that would really add something to a matchup between 2 good fighters, whoever they might be.
