Thanks for the reminder.

Cracking issue - really liked the comment piece, and, despite a distinct lack of sexual analogies, Dooley's piece on boxing websites was good. You never know, I might even subscribe now.

Re: Boxing Monthly - Excellent Read
Boxing Monthly is always an excellent read.
What makes it so good for me as that all the stories are new and fresh. I think that whilst Boxing News is good, for avid boxing fans like most of us here are, the news is old and I don't think Boxing Monthly suffers from this.
I've just renewed my membership so keep up the good work guys!

The good and the bad.....
went into WHSmiths and not a single copy left, so Glyn and his team have to be doing something right .
The downside was i dont have a day off till next saturday , so probably wont get a copy until then.
What are people thoughts on the subscription, is it on time etc. regularly?
A great read and i generally like the variety and balance provided between Domestic and world level reading. Sometimes i do feel like certain people seem to pop up a bit to often, or could it be that these people are just generally more noticeable. (seem to have a bit of a love-in with Fury and Bellew at times)
I'd like to see a bit more info from Asian area at times also.

Living in a hickville trapped in a farmville I've gotta do a round trip of 45 miles to get my copy sometimes.
I always forget to subscribe. There's a hole in my brain waiting to be filled by it.
I await that day.

We've run one feature on Fury, although he featured in one on his dad a couple of years back. And one on Bomber, aside from the preview of the Clev fight. Aside from them, they've only appeared in the reports roundup when they've fought. Anyhooo ....

There you see, you've managed to mentioned them twice in a single post - I really think you do give them too much coverageGlyn Leach wrote:We've run one feature on Fury, although he featured in one on his dad a couple of years back. What I think you need is a page on the Irish scene!! Often ignored by the generally Londoncentric Boxing News/Ringside/SKY there is an appetite there that isnt being catered for.Glyn Leach wrote:We've run ONE feature on Fury, although he played a part in one on his dad a couple of years ago. Boxing Monthly is easily the best monthly mag in the biz, and has been for some time.
Been a subscriber for years and I'm always happy with the content - in fact I just renewed my subscription for another two years today (£99.00, but money well spent).
Glyn, do I get two T-shirts for a 2-year subscription?
If not, how about another mug?

Decided to give the iphone app a go this month and got the latest copy free as part of that. Its a bit difficult to zoom in etc as it is essentially a pdf of the magazine on a tiny screen. Good idea though.
This really is the best boxing magazine out there. The Beristein feature was brilliant, love insights like that. Covering people who don't get covered.

Ta. The app IS essentially PDFs at this stage, if it proves popular enough (and it's getting that way) then we can work on bringing some other things into playdbf wrote:Decided to give the iphone app a go this month and got the latest copy free as part of that. Nope, separate suscription - they're supposed to be alternatives to each otherPat Butcher wrote:If you subscribe to the magazine do you get the i pad version free?Glyn Leach wrote:Ta. Just got my copy today and I have read Borges article on drugs in boxing - which is a great read. Buncey's piece on Frazier was class. Havent read the rest of the magazine yet.

Thanks people, really is much appreciated. We do try, it's important to us to do the best job we can.
Re: Boxing Monthly - Excellent Read
It is the quality of the writing and good balance of interesting subjects that distinguishes it from the others. Nearly all of the writers are seasoned boxing writers who have been covering the sport for decades. When I pay money to read about boxing, I want to read their work as I will usually come away having learned something, not only about the subject, but from their critical thought.

Bought a copy of latest BM at Man Airport on Weds as was flying out to Paris......enjoyed it all the way there, and the second half of it all the way back yesterday.....a fantastic read....some tremendous articles, notably Terry's gritty, insightful piece with Anderson and the Manny-Marquez inquest
Far too many Beatles songs from Farhood though, must have crammed about 50 in his piece on alphabet titles!
As good as ever......loved it.

I love the Inquest feature; it's a great idea & much better than a long review by one person.
Also, a nice feature on the great Joe Frazier; my only gripe being is that the main picture on the front cover should have been of Joe Frazier IMO.
