PS Some good points made either way.

Seems Haye suffers from the same condition Khan, Hatton and Calzaghe have.

All great fighters, all struggle to get 50% of Boxrec posters in their corner.

For the record I think Haye will stop Wlad. I hope I'm right.

Haye is simply a different fighter at the new weight.

Agreed.

When Haye 1st came on the scene, he was a breath of fresh air.
My wife and i travelled to alot of his early fights. I still have the Hayemaker t-shirt she bought me.
Even the Thomson set back never failed to convince me he was heading for the top.

But since his move up he has changed style inside & outside the ring. And its not a change for the better.
All the trash talk, then performances that left alot to be desired ...
The myth he is the most exciting heavyweight is ridiculous ...

Some of what you say is true Tony, but you can't really believe the Klits are more "exciting" fighters, surely?

They do things better than Haye - they're more solid, robust, and you could argue they have better defences, jabs and a more conventional style....

But more exciting? Nah.

Slowly busting up a Rahman or Peter over the distance without breaking a sweat isn't fun to watch.

Dig out your old T-shirt, slip the wife a bottle of rose and sit back and enjoy the fight mate.

We'll see who does the business on the night. If I'm wrong I'll hold my hands up, and I'm sure you will if it goes David's way :TU:

The Abdoul fight was a horrific spectacle as when he fought Valuev with a broke hand fo 10 rounds, but other than that I can't think of any poor fights involving Haye

Terry, please tell me you're taking the piss here?! I felt I spent 12 rounds watching Haye shuffle round a ring while occasionally throwing a jab at the human equivalent of a heavy bag. It was an absolute farce.

As disrepectful as Haye can be to an opponent, I'll be rooting for Haye to win big.

Saying that, and others have said as much, Haye doesn't appear to want to keep knocking a good few top rated contenders off the waiting list after he takes care of the Klits. Shame because that raises the profile of boxing.

I will give credit - where ever credit is due. Whoever wins.
I agree. The K-brothers are never edge of seat fighters. But they are what they are. There is no pre-fight silly boastsand hype. They do the job they say their gonna do.

If Haye was honest in how he intended to get a win - i would respect him more.
The way he fights now is the way he needs to against such big guys. But pre-fight he talks like he's gonna come out like a young Tyson ....

I just hate the silly childish pre-fight hype he ignorantly feels the need to spout.
Let your fists do the PR not your mouth FFS.

If he loses. He will be remembered more as another Mayorga than an Ali.

I sometimes feel that if Haye was caught funnelling arms to Gadaffi, Terry would still support him  :TU:

All joking aside I do feel that Haye polarises opinion! You either love him or hate him. hence there will be plenty of Brits supporting Wlad and many others wanting Haye to KO him.

Differant opinions, it's whatt makes the sport so exciting

I don't think its strange to say that a British person doesn't cheer Haye over a foreign opponent, certainly it's no more strange than saying 'I intrinsically like this person and wish them sucess because they came from a pussy on the same landmass as the one I came from'.

Is Wlad not a bit of a KO specialist? 49 stoppages and all that. I just want to see a good fight, and I think Haye, both the Klitcschkos, and their teams, have had a small part in the fact that the division has been in a bit of a holding pattern waiting for this fight to happen.... lets hope that by October, there is some upheaval and some new blood near the top, I don't count Haye in that as he seems to be intending a smash-and-grab on the belts, he's not going to be fighting Adamek, Solis, then in years to come, Perez, Fury or whoever... he says he's off in October and if he does, its nowhere near the legacy of people like Lewis, Holyfield or even the Klitschkos.

Nah, I sat in the stifling heat and appreciated it for what it was. Seen better, seen worse, the work on show was good and I enjoyed Haye's movement. It was all part of his education.
I'm truly staggered. I'm also genuinely curious to know what you've seen that's worse than that fight?
That's especially the case given Haye and Booth confessed on camera afterwards that they'd treated it basically as a sparring session.

The abdoul fight wasnt even that bad. I think you just picked the only fight other than the valuev one which haye didnt beat his opponent half to death in, thats including the thompson fight. In the hope that no one else watched it and would take your word for it.
But since there were boo's we can now say wow haye has had two boring fights out of the 26 showcases he's put on. And it was an EBU title fight not a world title fight.
You obviously didn't see the Abdoul fight. So boring people walked out in droves. It was purely an exercise in trying to prove Haye could go 12 rounds.
I did watch the abdoul fight - they were trying to build hayes stamina up and abdoul was in survival mode the whole fight. People walked out because they were expecting haye to do his usual and beat abdoul to a pulp not work on his weaknesses - i personally didnt find it that boring. If i had rolled up to watch a world title fight i would have.

As i said it was an EBU fight not a world title fight and with that fight deserter can now name 2 boring haye fights in his who career. After he tried making out haye had a number of boring fights claiming i was talking a load of rubbish. At the very best you could stretch to haye having 3 not that great fights. I can name about 10 boring klitschko fights of the top of my head.

However i do apologise because i am writting in response to about 3 different posters.

Sort of. I've watched Haye fight twice but I've really gone off him since the Audley Harrison.

In recent weeks, Wlad has grown on me a lot.. Wlad seems a guy you cannot dislike.

Hope for a great fight, and either way will not be disappointed who wins.

What an embarrassing, juvenile response. As illustrated above, you clearly claimed Haye had been in one boring fight in his entire career. I said this statement was rubbish and when challenged by you was able to name the other one.
Instead of having the maturity and good grace to simply acknowledge you were wrong, you instead embark on some half-arsed rant about how I'd tried making out Haye had a number of boring fights - please tell me where I've done that? You can't, simply because I didn't.
A lame attempt to then say the Abdoul fight was OK only serves to dig your hole even deeper. How is it a fight when one fighter isn't even trying to do anything other than last 12 rounds and the other is throwing nothing except a few jabs every round? The 'working on the stamina' line is a joke - Haye could easily have done the first eight (if I'm being kind) in that 'jab-only' mode before seeking to step it up and close the fight in the final third by launching anything resembling a sustained assault.
Just have the good grace to acknowledge that you got it completely and utterly wrong by claiming he'd only been in one boring fight in his career and we can move on, as I've got no interest in Haye-bashing.

You like Stinkers then ?

:D

It's perhaps the worst fight I've ever seen. Even the pundits kinda gave up on it and struggled to make subjective comments as it unfolded. It made Froch v Dirrell like Gatti/Ward.

Nonetheless Haye's been in plenty of thrillers too.

 What an anal response - i wrote the statement in response to someone saying haye was boring. I said haye had been in one boring fight his whole career - you stated i was talking a load of rubbish. But managed to name only one other boring fight. Which as other people have stated wasnt that boring, haye was proving a point, showing he wasnt just a 1trick pony and could outpoint his opponent over the distance. So its not just me saying the fight wasnt that bad is it?

Now trying to claim i got it completely and utterly wrong when you can only argue that 1 other fight can possibly be considered boring is pretty weak. In fact i would go as far to say its pretty sad!
