It's the refs job to stop a fight, a fighter can't be blamed for hitting his opponent.

The boxer does not choose to end the fight, thats the refs job. Can't blame a boxer for throwing punches. The ref should have stepped in sooner.

Where did you see Lebedev "celebrating widly"? As the fight was called and Lebedev walks off I thought it actually looked like he was somewhat upset about the way things ended. Once his team gets into the ring THEY start to jump on him and THEY go wild, but at no time do I see Lebedev getting out of line with his celebration.

For sure, if there is a case that he was still punching after the ref has called "stop" , or moved in, then yeah- a fighter could be in the wrong.

A verbal command from the ref should be enough to stop the fight.

Also, havent got the fight handy to check back, but earlier in that last round didnt roy catch lebedev and the ref moved in as if he was going to give a standing count, or as if he thought lebedev was going down - at which point because of the intervention roy backed off instead of going in for the kill - and when lebedev bounced off the ropes the ref didnt give the count and waved them both on....
