I seem to be in a bit of the minority here but im not at all impressed with this matchup!. Ok it is a fiarly interesting domestic matchup, but world title fight? no!... Cleverly is supposed to be a world champion now and I want to see him facing credible world class opposition to match up what he has been saying about being the best in the world. I really cant see Bellew troubling Nathan much at all unless he tales the safety first approuch that he did in the mckenzie fight and then we could well be in for a cure for insomnia once again. Decent domestic fight ok, but this is not a world class matchup and shouldnt be dressed as such. I feel the fans are being conned with matchups like this being paraded as world title fights when they are in reality nothing of the sort and in fact are not really even well matched domestically if truth be known. This will be a mismatch imo. :bag: :box: :shame: :shame: :shame:

Agree, dont think this is Bellew's level.
If he worked away for a while longer i think he would have merited his chance at a world title at some point. Maybe a bit too soon for him just now in my opinion.
Late stoppage victory for Cleverley in my opinion.

Shame because theyr both two good fighters/personalitys and id like to see both continue to do well.

I hope Bomber wins, but he seems a bit drawn at light heavyweight. Can see him losing and then going on to do big things at cruiserweight

righthook wrote:You talk about bellews last 2 fights but what about clevs last 2???? He scrped through by 2 points against a fighter on 2 days notice and he was lucky to win coz if that was in the other guys country and on his show he would have walked away with the win, and them in his next fight he gets rocked to his boots by some1 who took the fight on 10 hours notice. Hardly the sign of a good fighter. So next time you write something, have a little think about what u say first, otherwise you might sound a bit two faced.
Clev didn't look great in either of his last two fights, but he was clearly getting the better of Kuziemski prior to the stoppage, and most people thought he justifiably edged Mohammedi. Kuziemski is a fringe-contender at the world level and a solid European level fighter, while Mohammedi can be safely classified as a European level fighter. Both Kuziemski and Mohammedi are better than Bellew, and both are exponentially better than domestic operators Ajisafe and McKenzie. If we go back three fights, Cleverly dominated and stopped the world ranked Karo Murat, while Bellew was dropped heavily on two occasions by McKenzie.

as far as this fight goes, bellew is in massive trouble if clev can wether his shots and come through them because he will be all over bellew. bellew could get beaten at his own game here and if he comes in with the second mckenzie tactics... he will fall short at this level.

personally i think he takes clev out though. clev is just too easy to hit and i have no confidence in his chin. clev is the better boxer of the two but it won't be a boxing match imo.

what odds u reckon the bookies will price this fight as?

when it was almost on last time as replacement for Brahmer, Clev was 1/5 fav......but that was with Bellew coming in at short notice and not fully prepared.....so I would imagine would be a lot shorter for Clev now....maybe 4/9 fav?

wot u reckon?

Bellew looked petrified of getting hit against Mckenzie...

i wouldnt say petrified.

there was alot on the line for bellew & he done what he needed to do minimising all risk's.

bellew has got tremendous bottle period.

no offense mate, but nobody takes your opinion on bellew or gavin seriously. extreme bias there.

The last couple of fights show to me that Cleverly is a level abouve Bellew.

Saying that Bellew can still bang, just looked a bit flat recently.

Should be a cracking fight whilst it lasts though
