He's a stiff alright. De Mori will probably fight someone even worse. His last opponent sure wasBrute wrote:...and Wilder's opponent Damon McCreary, an overweight super middleweight who has had two comeback fights in the last five years is not a stiff?
Have a look at the bum-of-the month list Wilder beat.TrainInsane wrote:He's a stiff alright. De Mori will probably fight someone even worse. Two wrongs don't make a right. Both their opponent lists are awful.Brute wrote:Have a look at the bum-of-the month list Wilder beat.TrainInsane wrote:He's a stiff alright. Does WBC 20 count? :)N2 Shape wrote:No offence to MArk but is that really a fight people want to see?? Shane SHOULD be lining up a Top 30 Heavyweight at least to keep his momentum going after the Barrett win. Just my humble opinion.
Cameron's next couple of fights should be career defining. If he can't get big fights now he probably never will.N2 Shape wrote:No offence to MArk but is that really a fight people want to see?? It counts for little when it hasn't been earned.Totalpac wrote:Does WBC 20 count? :)N2 Shape wrote:No offence to MArk but is that really a fight people want to see?? Shane SHOULD be lining up a Top 30 Heavyweight at least to keep his momentum going after the Barrett win. Just my humble opinion.
I know what your saying though. Is Cameron staying at HW for good?
Cameron v Demori is one of the few local HW fights I would actually like to see.
this... just explain to me who he has beaten to be ranked in the top 20 in the world, in his last 6 fights he has beaten 1 guy coming off a win and none of the other guys losses were high profile. Mark has some good skills and ability but he is wasting it fighting these guys. He says he doesn't want to fight these guys in Australia for "peanuts" but what exactly has he done to be given a shot against any of the top guys in the world, a national championship would be a start and really not a hard fight for Mark to win. He almost acts at time like guys in this country aren't worthy to fight him, I'm sure he is a great guy but it is just how it comes off at times. Wilder is a step in the right direction IMO though i think he is a bad match up, it will be hard work getting inside Wilders reach without getting caught but I hope he can do it.TrainInsane wrote:It counts for little when it hasn't been earned.Totalpac wrote:Does WBC 20 count? :)N2 Shape wrote:No offence to MArk but is that really a fight people want to see?? The golden rule kicks in:Brute wrote:Might be because the US state of Alaska is a short distance by sea from the Russian region of Siberia in Asia, of which Alaska was once part.
Canadians and Africans have fought for Australasian titles, Australians have fought for African titles, Kali Meehan once won a North American title. He with the money makes the rules.
Ive meet Mark and have been following his progress, However looking at the WBC top 20 I dont know why Mark did not fight Welliver?. Even after his lose to "The Tank" he is still rated higher. I get it about fighting the right fights for rankings but with Wilder ranked lower (WBC) then Mark it kinda contradict's everything you said. Fighting Chauncy gets a top 15 rating - fighting Wilder gets Mark a name on American TV?, And that is if he wins.Totalpac wrote:I can see what you're saying Ozzie and I'm sure it does come across that way to some, but it's simply Marks goal has always been to fight in the US and sadly few of the Aussie HWs will help him achieve that goal if he beats them. Meehan was one and that's why he tried to land fights with him.
I know I have said it before and it's sad, but beating Alexander, Calloway and Weida means more from a business side with their name/US contacts/previous opponents win or lose, than a win against an Aussie most the time.
It's no disrespect to them or Aussie boxing or the Aussie boxing fans, sadly just the truth if your goal is to fight in the US.
Wilder and his trainer have put Marks name to GoldenBoy a couple of times, so he's in the mix. Marks just got to stay ready for that short notice call. Fingers crossed.
And Callaway and the stiff he just fought weren't ugly looking fights and unattractive winsTotalpac wrote:No he's still contracted to DK.
Welliver is an interesting case, yes he's ranked higher and has some sort of name. The fight with Williams looked really bad for him IMO, ended up a bit of farce and made Chauncy and Williams look like a bit of a side show.
I like Chauncy, but the problem with fighting him its always going to an ugly looking fight and an unattractive win. At the stage Marks at, just a win isn't enough, it has to be a good looking win to get attention.
Has Chauncy fought the Japanese guy yet? Result?
