I'm sure Ward not is that good. Just very Slick. AT his best I thinkKessler would beat him. He's very slick but there's something missing from him.

A untested 20-0 Ward man-handled a 44-1 Kessler in the first of the Super Six fights. No matter how "at his best" Kessler would be, i dont think he would be able to beat Ward imo. Ward has not even come close to losing in any if his bouts.

I had it 117-111, I was really surprised when the Canadian and US judge had it 115-113!

Why does Kessler beat him? What does he bring that Ward couldn't handle?

Whatever he brings, he already brought it 2 years ago and lost an 11 round TD.

Dirrell wants no part of Ward. Ward is slick but he is very tough as well, whereas Dirrell is really lacking in that department for me. There's something not quite right about Dirrell for me, very skillful but I question his mentality in there. When they were talking ahead of their proposed fight I remember Dirrell highlighting the fact that they were friends and I got the impression that this would make no difference to Ward whatsoever. It almost seemed like a ploy to get Ward to go easy on him.

I had it 118-110. The two 115-113 cards were possibly the worst since Terry O’Connor’s Fury-McDermott score. My wish for 2012 is that judges are brought up to standard and the daft ‘aggression’ interpretation is properly explained to them as many seem to be scoring guys for walking onto shots. Perhaps show them a copy of Mayweather-Gatti and say, ‘You see the naturally massive guy who is walking forward in straight lines and being brutalised with clean shots to the head? Well he’s losing the rounds.’
X 2. The sh!t judging is making it harder with betting too. Was gonna put some money on a Ward UD but just don't trust the judges to give ridiculous results

Had it 117-111
Rnd 1 Ward 10-9
Rnd 2 Ward 10-9
Rnd 3 Ward 10-9
Rnd 4 Ward 10-9
Rnd 5 Froch 10-9
Rnd 6 Ward 10-9
Rnd 7 Ward 10-9
Rnd 8 Ward 10-9
Rnd 9 Ward 10-9
Rnd 10 Ward 10-9
Rnd 11 Froch 10-9
Rnd 12 Froch 10-9

Feel for Froch but Ward was really impressive. How anyone could call that boring is beyond me. Showed great defensive skills at distance and close up. Made Froch look slow and ponderous - he is not! Got off nice sharp shots with a good jab and some excellent in fighting. Was way better than I expected. Easy win, although last couple of rounds seemed to tire fast.
If it had been the old 15 rounder I wouldn't have been surprised if Froch would have caught up with him.
I don't think they were going over the top in the studio. He will be top p4p next year. Needs a defining fight against Bute.
Nice kid, comes across well.
Froch should take on Kessler again and try and avenge that defeat.

Think Froch Vs Abraham for the first half...

How can he give 4 of the first 5 rounds to Froch. But Not give Froch the last 2?

He is a clever fighter, lots of little subtle touches that I enjoy seeing.
Me either he's a joy to watch, and seems to be a tough nut too.

Will take a special fighter to take Ward into the trenches.

Watt and darke made ward sound like the nextmayweather. I have several casual fans and they were all talking about ward as if he is the second coming. Thatwas the firsttime they even heard of him but because of watt and darke they now think he is a legend "he hasnt lost since he was 12 etc". It's good for boxing I suppose

There were sparks of brilliance against the laboured Froch but all in all Ward is not an exciting fighter for me. (at the moment)

Ward was far too good for Froch. McGuigan summed up Ward's performance perfectly...."sublime". Some of his movement was extraordinary.

Ward is far and away number 1 in the division, but it would be great if he took out Bute (which he would, no question about it) and solidify his position with a few defences before thinking about other options that will be open to him.

I think it was Froch: You cannot knock me out
Ward: That's a great line, good for TV, anything can happen etc.

From a purist's standpoint, Ward was not 'sublime'. He obviously won widely but a referee HAS to penalise all of that holding and mauling at some point. Smoger wasn't the man to get involved there.

If he fights Bute I would like to see the referee get tough on the rough stuff.

for real?
I thought Ward was great on the inside, completely controlled the bigger man Froch, bullied him around, scored sneaky little shots and always clipped him when they broke off. And that's when he didn't even need to be on the inside cause he was so much quicker on the outside and dominating with jabs, single left hooks etc
Ward totally dominated the range of the fight and took it wherever he wanted, i thought he was awesome, didn't realise he was that good :o

I thought Ward was good on the inside as well, he was faster and stronger than Froch inside and whilst landing more he also completely neutralised Carl up close.

Just watching a few rounds again, he was very very good on the inside! His 'mauling' was educated i thought and perfect against a rangy, physically strong opponent like Carl -
he controlled Froch's arms, created space to throw his own shots, tucked up and stayed in the pocket hitting Carl with loads of short hooks and uppercuts, and HE decided when to break the clinch. Masterclass

we'll have to agree to disagree my friend! It wasn't the type of fight where both guys could sit in the pocket and lash combinations at each other like a couple of midget Mexicans, Ward didn't even need to be there but when he chose to be he was really effective.

Although i do agree that Carl was poor inside so flattered Ward a bit, i just wasn't expecting Andre to completely shut him down in every department and look so calm and in control at every range
