I got blasted from a couple of people about my bulky statement.
He always looked like a WWE wrestler to me and not a boxer and now we know why.
He got caught for EPO after the Sexton fight which is a drug used to boost red blood cell production and thus increase stamina.
I know but my statement was made before the Sexton fight. Before his substance abuse came out. I'm just saying he looked too bulky and I hinted to my brother (who's a big boxing fan) that he seemed unnaturally big. As I said before, we both thought he looked more like a WWE wrestler than a boxer. He obviously was having stamina problems because of his size and that's why he was taking EPO. Which is the point I was making.

No it's not. Haye boiled down to cruiser, he's the perfect example of a mesomorph, he knows how to train, rest and eat. Putting on 10lbs of relatively lean mass, especially for a guy who has been dieting as hard as Haye was prior, is a five week job, tops. Just because one guy is smashing all sorts, it doesn't mean everybody else is.

I dont think he is the perfect example of a mesomorph though! Mesomorphs tend to be smaller and more stocky ie muscular with short limbs and thats not Haye! Look at Haye in his early days, he was skinny as hell!

There seems to be many people saying 'I told you so' who have never said anything before.
Also in this climate will it be possible to raise potentially defamatory question a la Haye or whoever??

Why what are you thinking of accusing Froch of?
With regards Haye and for further clarity,
Mesomorphic: characterized by medium bones, solid torso, low fat levels, wide shoulders with a narrow waist; usually referred to as muscular. Mesomorphs are predisposed to build muscle but not store fat. I'd say that sums him up pretty well,
I wasnt accusing Froch of anything actually, Im a fan of froch's. I was generally just curious on what you think his body type is though.

In all honesty I think along with a lot of people that steroids and the like are rampant in boxing. I remember seeing a french newspaper article that accuses Lucian Bute of being on EPO before the Librado Andrade rematch and considering the way the first fight went with him gassing out it wouldnt surprise me.

He got beat off Daniel Peret now there's one man who could never be accused of taking PEDs.

I guess it just shows though that you can take an industrial amount of PEDS and still be shite though!

It was obvious Larry had used PEDS in the past before he started his boxing career but i was willing to give him the benefit of doubt that he was fighting clean since being in the ring.
I've always stated that i'm 100% against any PED use in combat sports due the the nature of them trying to cause physical damage to an opponent. Any fighter caught using them should be charged with attempted murder and banned for life plus have all their wins wiped out and made to pay every penny they ever earnt in the sport and i'd be the first to report any fighter i was associated with.
Larry is a complete disgrace not only to himself but the sport of boxing, until every boxer is tested year around randomly then we can never be totally sure if they're clean. Lets be honest it's pretty easy to spot a PED user if you go into any gym as if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, looks like a duck, it must be a duck.

If he wasnt a poster they wouldve been on it marc
Yeah thats true enough, sometimes members get too defensive about posters who conduct themselves well on here.
I actually missed your post, it does seem very foolish he advertised this on body building websites.
Larry always seemed like nice guy and this is certainly a sad situation, but he looks to have been caught fair and square and will have to take this on the chin.
I remember Tommy Morrison admitting to this years ago, maybe it was this abuse that led to his HIV and he also claimed all the top heavies were on it. Of course there has been rumours about Holyfield.
I always felt that Larry doubted himself a bit, may be because of his lack of experience and perhaps he felt he needed to do this out of a bit of insecurity.
He always seemed very keen to learn his trade but it seems he wasn't confident to do this without shortcuts.

I would love to fight someone shit, I would run a mile from Larry though, never heard anyone call him shit before.
Maybe it does prove the old adage that you can't build muscle on chin!

Did the steroids even help to make him a better boxer?
Maybe he was just addicted to being ridiculously muscular and they weren't for performance enhancement at all.

Surprise, surprise a personal insult from yours truely! I would of never of expected it!

what do you expect me to say? Larry Im so so sorry for the fact that you decided to take it upon yourself to admittedly taking atleast 12 banned substances. Im sure you had a bad headache of an evening and your painkiller was spiked with these performance enhancing agents? I have to say it's a real shame as your boxing ability reminded me of a young Cassius Clay and if this had not of occured you would of undoubtedly gone down as one of boxings greats. Should I of said that then Yid?

Larry was on the steroids it's was always obvious why wasn't he tested earlier, I would go as far to say there's a lot more heavyweights on it in Britain , it's the guys that compete naturally I feel for because these cheats are the ones who end up getting the big pay days ! More drug testing in all divisions is needed

Come on folks surely u cant all be that naive, ive been into bodybuilding for yrs and just by looking at Larry u can tell he's been on something. Some of these heavyweights are just too musclebound, i bet theres plenty more out there escaping the net right now.
