Seems Joshua and Ogogo are attracting more grief than the other fighters who have had decisions go their way. Why is that? Is it their nationality? Their colour? Hard to understand.

I hope the pair of them go on and win gold and enjoy all the trappings an Olympic Gold can give to a young fighter turning pro.
Of course I feel for their opponents, Savon especially, who both deserved to win their fights with the two British lads but I'm not blaming the winners, it's the officials fault.

So, hypothetically speaking, if a Brit had hammered in the final, totally taken to school but got a victory, would you be jumping around thinking it was great?

Well said mate, remember Degale, he got a lot of stick when he won gold, because he had a bad last round and has continued to get stick since, some his own fault, some not.

The ones that were as blatantly wrong as Joshua and Ogogo got against the Cuban and Ukranian .. then yes.
That said .. the other names I quickly forgot. I did watch one lastnight where a Chinese lt-fly some how got the decision .. I forgot his name and his opponents nationality .. so ..

Simply because their teamGB and I have very little interest to remember the names of other guys boxing for a different country ..
As for you bringing racism into this .. I think that says a whole lot about you for even thinking a thing. Its obviously a factor that influences you if you think it would influence others .. shame on you.

It seems like people on this forum have a major problem when anyone even thinks anything could be racist, maybe that says a lot about them as well, shame on them. It's a forum, people have different opinions on reasons for things happening, if you don't like what they say, tough, I don't like people who try to stop awareness, but there you go.

No of course not.

I only questioned if it was these two lads race or their nationality because they seem to be getting grief for decisions they had absolutely no influence over! I find it hard to understand why people are blaming Joshua and Ogogo for any of this. I guess they could come out and say, 'hey, you know what, I thought I lost, I want to hand my place in the next round to the guy who I think beat me'....hardly realistic though is it!?

If you only watch GB fighters then fair enough, you won't get all uppity about others. I can assure you though, these two decisions are not the only ones to have gone to the wrong man in this Olympic games! There have been plenty and numerous nationalities have benefitted ( Irish, Kazakh, Chinese, Italian, Azeris etc ) from dodgy decisions. Joshua and Ogogo, on here at least, seem the poster boys for unfair play in the game right now which is a joke. For the final time, it's the officials that make these calls, it is the officials who should be blamed.
I ain't blaming Michael Conlan for getting a win when he lost against the French bloke, I'm blaming the officials.

Stalker was upset about losing out but I think he has a very short memory, he wasn't gicev the decision when he clearly lost his other fight.

For me Yiddo, Joshua is just simply overrated and I cringe at all the hype that will follow should he win Gold. Bum of the month, padded KO's record, proclaimed the future HW Champion and all that bollocks when, the guy is, to me, a rubbish clone of Bruno. He aint gonna get much btter or faster but we shall see.

Ogogo annoyed me after his 'win' over the Ukrainian, he said something apparently or words to the effect that he deserved it because he had been stichted up himself in the past, which I have no doubt, but that is a pretty s*** attitude to have, if I am honest.

They are my main gripes with both, oh and we both agreed that Savon deserved the W against Big Josh. Having said all that, there have been plenty of controversial decisions throughout. Stalker is another, should have lost his last fight, got the win and then acts like a d*** when he lost a close fight himself. There is disappointment, of course, but there is also taking defeat with good grace and not acting like a spoilt brat.

Are people actually rating Joshua that highly?

I think he is every bit as good as David Price was in the ams and probably has more potential given his age and the fact he hasn't been boxing long ( Big Pricey was a seasoned vet by the time Beijing came round )

He lost to Savon but he has notable scalps on his record already. Cammarelle, Pfeifer, Zhang, Dychko, lost by a single point in the worlds final to the home fighter Majidov last year etc.

If he wins gold we may see the tabloids going overboard comparing him to Lennox ( both would have been Olympic champ to be fair ) and maybe even saying he can emulate him in the pros ( no chance ) etc but on here, in the main, people have been pretty relaxed about him. On the current scene for example there is a thread saying Dychko will dominate heavyweight boxing for the next decade!!! Nothing like that has cropped up when talking about Joshua.

I thought Dychko was really poor. in fact, that goes for all the super heavies to be honest. They looked so basic compared to their counterparts in the lighter weight. Joshua looks the best of a bad bunch on the basis of last night and I expect him to beat Cammerelle.
