I know Mitchell is unprofessional because its a documented fact he likes to drink, get in trouble with the law and engage in sraps outside the ring. Burns worked in a shop after becoming world champion because he didnt want to let his boss down. That demonstrates character and humility, one of the key reasons Burns is a 2 weight world champion and Mitchell is an underachiever who got KTFO on the biggest night of his life. A real athelete is an athelete all the time, not in the 8 weeks leading up to the fight. That's the difference.

I dont think there is anyone who is willing for Burns to win or thinks he will win that this is not a close fight, other than you ....and of course Billy Nelson. If there is, then like you they are talking through emotion. I think and am willing Mitchell to win but of course I know its a very close fight and Mitchell will have to be at the top of his game....Which from what I've seen in his training he will be. Your first post was i observe this and mainly read etc, but it seems to me, (and i'm like you i mainly observe) that you purposely started this thread to sow the seeds of Burns being unhappy and wanting to move trainers as you heard a 'rumour' and now i read in your latest post that you have seen Mitchell training, which says to me you are in the camp or certainly VERY interested in Mitchell.

Firstly, I didn't 'purposely' start a thread to sow any seeds. It's a fight I'm interested in (as are many) and it has been general knowledge amoungst some that Burns was not happy in his camp and was/is looking to switch trainers. Now, I also stated that I didn't think it a good idea. I also stated that I do not care who wins. Also, its not hard for me to have seen Mitchell train as some of his training is in an open gym. And I was lucky enough to be in the gym when Burns sparred with Mitchell. No, I'm not in any 'camp' and certainly not Mitchell's. I wouldn't say I am more 'interested in Mitchell than I am Burns. Infact I do personally favour Burns's boxing style more than Mitchells. Mitchell is more of a local fighter to me than what Burns is and being a boxing fan I would have heard more about Mitchell than Burns before they both reach the level they are at, obviously. But, its true when I say that I really do not care who wins. I'm just looking forward to a good fight which I think it will be, hoping that the rumour isn't true as I think if it was that will make Burns's chances alot more slimmer in what I see as a 50/50 fight. See the problem is Rob you appeared out of nowhere stirring shit up about a fighter and his coach looking to cause an argument. Billy quickly cleared the matter up (thankfully) when really you should have been looking to debate how the fight goes.

I believe it is a close fight I take Burns on points. People who underestimate Mitchell are doing so because he is a lad about a town carrying knives in cars and supposedly hanging about with unsavoury characters, that’s is his fault.. The sad thing about this fight is both fighters apparently get on really well and the fans are the ones looking to cause mischief.

I heard from a good source about someone touching down in sparring last week. Not a great deal to go on I know but 6/1 Mitchell by stoppage seemed too big as it was but now I'm all over that like I am cake

Very true and being someone that has continually fought the gambling demons throughout my life I know this more than anyone how shit tips/rumours are and I still have nightmares about my biggest ever boxing bet on Ricky to get stopped by Katsidis which I thought was as nailed on as anything I had ever bet on. So I won't be going big but in a 50/50 fight I think 6/1 is worth a little punt and I know I shouldn't but when I think of Burns I can't help but think of when Johansson took him apart. Good luck to both though top fight with 2 top fighters

Get a grip billy,this is a far better and more experienced ricky burns compared to the one that lost to CJ,no way will Kevin Mitchell stop burns,burns will win this fight coz he's fitter,stronger and the better all round fighter

I watched Ricky train before the Johanneson fight. He looked massive for the weight and very fit but I was also really struck by how raw he was. No disrespect to his previous trainer but Ricky appeared largely self taught and almost unrecognisable from the complete boxer he is now. Fighters do change.

Intriguing fight though, at his best Mitchell's so fast and sharp.
