seen Mitchell training, which says to me you are in the camp or certainly VERY interested in Mitchell.
So summing up mate, you started a thread purely to try and stir up shite while being part of camp mitchell....shame really. maybe i'm wrong but thats how it seems to me

Firstly, I didn't 'purposely' start a thread to sow any seeds. It's a fight I'm interested in (as are many) and it has been general knowledge amoungst some that Burns was not happy in his camp and was/is looking to switch trainers. Now, I also stated that I didn't think it a good idea. I also stated that I do not care who wins. Also, its not hard for me to have seen Mitchell train as some of his training is in an open gym. And I was lucky enough to be in the gym when Burns sparred with Mitchell. No, I'm not in any 'camp' and certainly not Mitchell's. I wouldn't say I am more 'interested in Mitchell than I am Burns. Infact I do personally favour Burns's boxing style more than Mitchells. Mitchell is more of a local fighter to me than what Burns is and being a boxing fan I would have heard more about Mitchell than Burns before they both reach the level they are at, obviously. But, its true when I say that I really do not care who wins. I'm just looking forward to a good fight which I think it will be, hoping that the rumour isn't true as I think if it was that will make Burns's chances alot more slimmer in what I see as a 50/50 fight. So yes, you are wrong. Have you ever wanted to be a Police man?

See the problem is Rob you appeared out of nowhere stirring shit up about a fighter and his coach looking to cause an argument. Billy quickly cleared the matter up (thankfully) when really you should have been looking to debate how the fight goes.
I believe it is a close fight I take Burns on points. People who underestimate Mitchell are doing so because he is a lad about a town carrying knives in cars and supposedly hanging about with unsavoury characters, that’s is his fault.. The sad thing about this fight is both fighters apparently get on really well and the fans are the ones looking to cause mischief.

Without writing a stupidly long post....this will be a great fight. Hard one to call and has all the makings of fight of the year in my eyes. Nobody can pick a clear winner on this one if you be honest with yourself. I just hope they both perform to their very best and if they do, I can see it brutal!
Lets be honest its the best domestic fight out there on paper.

sensible post.
mitchell has never seemed to fulfill his potential and burns seems to have exceeded his. i think it will come down to who has put in the hardest work over the last few years, so i'll go for burns to win by late tko

Oh you little rumour machine Billy boy well it wasn't my man so?
6/1 for Kevin to stop the boxer with the best defence in British boxing I'd say that's a fair enough price a losing bet but a fair price.
Only 3weeks to go ricky is looking great in top sparring can't wait for the 22nd

Billy, why react to this kind of thing?
Someone who isn't prepared to reveal who they really are or give actual facts about the gym they heard the rumours in, is not really worth responding to.

so thats two great rumours in this post ...that burns is leaving nelson and that hes getting kod in sparring. so im selling my house and putting it all on mitchell.....
where were the rumours before mitchell got smashed by katsidis?
where were the rumours that hatton had the flu before lazcano fight
or david hayes toes, or kell brooks weekends off...
rumours are like tips for winners in the horses...they always come from "reliable sources" and they are almost always unreliable.

Didn't Ray Leonard get dropped by Quincy Jones in sparring before the Hagler bout? I think I remember reading that it focused Leonards mind not to get involved with Hagler.
I think Mitchell will win but in a hard bout; both are class and wil have good game plans, both have good corners. I'm putting £20 on Kevin and maybe a fiver inside the distance).

Very true and being someone that has continually fought the gambling demons throughout my life I know this more than anyone how shit tips/rumours are and I still have nightmares about my biggest ever boxing bet on Ricky to get stopped by Katsidis which I thought was as nailed on as anything I had ever bet on. So I won't be going big but in a 50/50 fight I think 6/1 is worth a little punt and I know I shouldn't but when I think of Burns I can't help but think of when Johansson took him apart. Good luck to both though top fight with 2 top fighters
Get a grip billy, this is a far better and more experienced ricky burns compared to the one that lost to CJ,no way will Kevin Mitchell stop burns, burns will win this fight coz he's fitter, stronger and the better all round fighter

I watched Ricky train before the Johanneson fight. He looked massive for the weight and very fit but I was also really struck by how raw he was. No disrespect to his previous trainer but Ricky appeared largely self taught and almost unrecognisable from the complete boxer he is now. Fighters do change.
Intriguing fight though, at his best Mitchell's so fast and sharp.
