The corner stopped it. Calm the fvck down
How did the corner stop if they ran in after Caiz stopped it?
They were on the steps waving the towels and Caiz was facing them so he knew what they were doing

You're high. Donaire just outclassed the guy with the best on-paper resume in the division.

Nishioka bricked it but that was fuckin' impressive.
Agreed. Going in, this absolutely was a legitimate fight. Never thought Donaire would dominate like that.
Hope that ends all questions as to his power at this weight. Christ.
Hope he fights either Rigo or the Mares/Moreno winner, though the latter probably won't happen because of the TR/GBP war.

There was about a round and a half of a good fight there. I have no problem with the match being made, even in hindsight, being that they were the top fighters in the division. Donaire was just too good to allow for a more entertaining fight (or Nishioka wasn't good enough, whatever you prefer).

You haven't really paid that much attention to Donaire's career, have you?

I wouldn't say that a guy who's faced Darchinian, Montiel, Narvaez, Vazquez jr., Mathebula and now Nishioka, along with a handful of other solid contenders, going through 4 weight classes, has had the benefit of "mismatches because of connections."

He's just damn good.
put him in with Riogondeaux

Impressed by Donaire tonight. Did enough to take the rounds comfortably enough despite having to lead, and got the stoppage once Nishioka actually opened up a bit.

completely I blame Bob Arum for this sleeper , but with the Rios fight I don't give a darn,, the two fights on this card tonight were like night and day..
You should blame Nishioka not Arum. The Nishioka-Marquez fight was a barnburner

Donaire just said he wants any of Mares or Moreno or he'll move uo if they can't make the fight and he would prefer Rigondeaux to deepen his resume, which I can see why because if he KO'd Rigo everyone would say "oh Rigondeaux was just an amateur" or some crazy shit

Rigondeaux should fight Vazquez Jr. One way to get a cash cow is to hammer his old rivals

Never expected Nishioka to do much of anything despite his hype. Japanese fighters have zero defense when they come forward on offense, zero.

It doesn't matter if they are on the steps, the ref can simply ignore them. They need to enter the ring for the ref to end the fight and Caiz ended the fight before that happened.

How could a Donaire/Mares fight be made (even if Mares beats Moreno) given the TR/GBP issue?

Nonito is too damn good. I don't accept the BS that he is hype. Skill, speed, power, balance, variety, chin, the guy has fantastic ingredients to be a genuine, great fighter.

Another solid win against, sadly one of my favourite fighters but meh, got to accept Donaire is just too talented for most.

I called it from day 1. Predicted Donaire KO in the PTBF thread as well.

Thanks for trying but you fail.

Mares has the better P4P resume, especially in the last couple years, but it's close when you take everything into account.

Anyway Donaire-Mares could be made as the Lara-Matirosyan fight was and is a GBP-TR clash but it probably won't happen because both are big enough cash cows for their groups.

If anything the loser of Mares-Moreno has a better shot at fighting Donaire and if not then Rigondeaux due to a loss causing loss of value in them for GBP

But isn't Lara/Vanes a title eliminator mandated by one of the orgs? Donaire/the Mares/Moreno winner would be a unification. It's not like either would be the other's mandatory challenger, thus forcing the fight to happen.

Mares definetly has a better resume. Who cares if Nishioka has more fights at the weight by default, the weights are close enough to the same neighborhood that it shouldn't much matter.
