Eventim kindly gave booking fees back if you booked this fight and the Charr beofre. I wonder if they will give back the fees this time without any other purchase, my fee was £25 but I am not holding my breath.

Total loss: £100 travelodge not refunded even though I took out insurance (Haye v Charr)
£25 booking fee Haye v Fury??

From the clip i saw of Haye sparring, it's clear he was going very hard in there with his sparring partners, there's always a chance of an injury when you go to war in the training camp, and that's what happened.

Haye was sparring Deontay wilder, and unbeaten prospect with a big punch - which means he was definitely preparing as well as he could have done. The notion this is deliberate just doesn't stand up to scrutiny. Fury has done nothing so far in his career to suggest he is on the same level as Haye, I'm sure that Haye figured this was going to be a massive payday to take on someone at least one level, and more than likely more than that below him, why on earth would he slice himself open, causing scar tissue for later fights - utter tripe.

I do agree with this, but David Haye reminds me, and possibly quite a few others of the story of the boy who cried wolf.

He's not to be trusted, he should've stayed retired.

Peter Fury has closed the door on Haye's offer & admitted the news is a massive blow to Team Fury who will now look at a new opponent when Tyson returns to the ring soon.

Peter said, "we move on from Haye now and look for better things, its up to the public on what they perceive has took place here, but we want genuine fights.

This has put a bad taste in our mouths, so were moving on, and the fight will not be rescheduled on our side.

Someone explain why the fcuk is he sparring that heavy this close on ?
I think something to do with a 6 foot 9 big guy wanting to take his head off and Haye wanting to get mentally prepared and physically sharp as he could. You think 8, 9, days before a fight is too close to be sparring? :o Sounds like just the time to be sparring to me. Any boxers reading - how far out before a fight should you stop sparring?

I never boxed pro ,but i was always under the impression that the heavy sparring is wrapped up by two weeks ,hence why the main sparring partners went home a week ago didn't they ?
I just thought it a little unprofessional to be sparring that heavy so close in ,especially with inadequate headgear...i am just gutted as I was so looking forward to me and my mates going :(

I think in boxing you need one of 2 things after a full training camp....that is either a) a fight, or b) a break. To physically and mentally come down, before starting to build up to it again. I may be wrong but prolonged 15-20 week camps are a mess and often result in poor performances. Therefore, I suspect the week before Christmas or sometime in 2014 imo.
It's more time for Fury to work on the gameplan and his strength and footwork. He just needs to avoid too much beer at Christmas.

@mrpedigree, I understand you're upset the fight's fallen through, mate. Listen, hand on heart, with two or three exceptions - the Wlad fight being one - Haye always spars this late. It's the way he's always done it. Different fighters have different approaches but remember, if this cut had happened three weeks ago, the fight would have been called off too.

Bellew saying the top pros in the UK and USA spar 4 days before the fight.

Smigga also reckons Haye wouldn't be ready before xmas.

And exactly how many fights has Haye pulled out of previously.

Jesus, give the guy a break- he got cut in sparring, it happens - end of story.

If anything, I find it more telling that Fury and his people are not interested in rescheduling. To me I think it suits them, they can insinuate that Haye did it deliberately, and claim they were ducked, and move on without having to face a man who was rightly favourite to smash Fury to pieces. Fury v Wilder - cobblers, I think we all know that's just a load of bluster - Wilder would be all risk and no reward.

Everyone does things different. Haye had plenty of rust to shed so it don't suprise me he's sparring close to fight date.
Where as furys been active has match sharpness & fitness so tapered off & was ready.
You can't enter a fight with a cut people!! I don't like haye or how he's pulled out before & disrespected fans with do this for my autograph sh1t the guys a melt IMO but you can't blame him occupational hazard. Feel sorry for fury who pushed the boat out for his camp where haye just done it at his home no real expense

He pulled out of his most recent scheduled fight, James. I've got to be honest, I'm a lot less sceptical this time than I was that time. Manuel Charr has probably uttered 'ain't karma a bitch', or the German equivalent, more than once today.

+1 this would be quality !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

it would be great. Provided it's October early rather than late. Training camps shouldn't last forever.
I doubt it will happen as Wilder's more powerful so while there's any chance that them millions will go flying out the window, I think the Furys will reject it - although I'm sure both guys would love to fight one another.

Fury Thompson would also be good. Another respectable, dangerous opponent for Tyson and a reward for Tony for the willingness and performances he's shown in the UK this year. I wouldn't be surprised if Tony the Tiger sussed him out though... :box:

Since moving to Heavyweight-
Wlad
Charr
Fury

Between those fights (which have been spread over something like 4 years) Haye has only fought 5, so that's 37.5% of his "arranged" fights over the last 4 years or so....

I meant BEFORE Fury.

He fought Wlad though didn't he - so it's not like he was running from him.

Charr, don't remember that one.

Fury - legitimate cut.

What are you trying to assert here? I mean, the only one which is really dubious is Charr. I can't see why he would be running from Charr.

He pulled out Vs Wald.
Charr.
Fury.
Regardless, he is sick note.

I guess it's possible he just couldn't be arsed with Charr, as there wasn't much money on the table and he saw a preferable opportunity, but i doubt very much he's slices his own eye open to get out of a HUGE payday against Fury.

You forgot the one where he was meant to go out to Germany in 2009 to fight Wlad, then pulled out and Chagaev filled in after his bout the previous week was called off by a Swiss Doctor? The fight that SHOULD have seen Wlad take the WBA belt before the WBA allowed Valuev to hold the only title in an example of BS politics?

Charr was earlier this year, Haye pulled out with a "hand injury" (apparently to persue a bigger fighter-the Fury fight).

What am I trying to assert? Well you're the one who asked how many fights he pulled out of, so I guess I was trying to assert and answer...

Yeah, im not Haye's biggest fan but I dont know why you would hate on him for that. It's a nasty cut and you couldnt go into a fight with that!
