That is a Fact
The only odor was the flop sweat that emanated from the dying carcass of the heretofore invincible George Foreman.

A Rock concert is a far more Festive occasion than a Prize fight. Particularly a one-sided one.
I'd rather see Deep Purple live in their heyday than Ali vs Lubbers as well.
Woodstock or Rumble In The Jungle. I'd ask Il Bugiardo but I know he would say Grand Ole Opry.

Woodstock without question.
I think Deep Purple is a pretty good band, they're not one of my favorite bands of all time or nothing, but I wouldn't pass up the chance to see them live. I do think Smoke on the Water is a pretty overrated song personally, though Duce is correct that's it one of the riffs that beginner guitar players gravitate toward.
Deep Purple has a lot of better songs than that one in my opinion.

You won't find them on Google.
You have to have the actual {dated} Newspapers, which I have.
The only time Rudi was 'shaken' was in Round 10, but he came right back after Muhammad
and landed a great right-hand to the left side of his face.
The Reg Gutteridge 'corner interview' was blown out of proportion, and Muhammad only had a few
words with the Ringside Journalist between a Few Rounds.
Blown out of proportion like pretty much everything you say about Rudi Lubbers?
How convenient that you just happen to have some Holland newspapers from the 1970's in your possession.

From the Articles,
* Muhammad Ali predicted a 'Knockout' in Round 5
* Rudi Lubbers though listed at 6' 0", was closer to 5' 10 1/2"
* His weight was listed at 194 lbs., but Rudi had to bulk up on Weight-Lifting and Protein Shakes
to keep his weight above 190 lbs., during Training Camp.
* Rudi said Muhammad was much easier to hit than he thought, despite having an 8" Reach disadvantage.
* The Ring at only 16' 6", was chosen by the Ali Camp.
* Muhammad Ali only talked to Reg Gutteridge 'twice' during fight, and only for a few words each time.
* Reg Gutteridge was one of only a handful of Newsman there that Night.
* The Indonesian Fans cheered for Rudi, not Muhammad Ali.
* Muhammad Ali was breathing very hard at the end of Round 10, and was frustrated that he couldn't drop Rudi.
What was so impressive to you about Lubbers losing every round against Ali?
Were you impressed by Trinidad's performance against Winky Wright?
Were you impressed by Carlos Baldomir's performance against Floyd Mayweather?

The 'first' real good Round that Muhammad Ali had was Round 7..........
I had it 9-1-2 in Rounds, but Rudi was 'competitive', for what he brought to the table.
Don't you think.........
No doubt he performed as well as he possibly could have, and going the distance with Ali is nothing to take lightly as I said, but it certainly doesn't make Rudi Lubbers a great fighter that could've duplicated Ali's performance against Foreman in Zaire because he lasted 12 rounds with him.
I have no doubt that Lubbers was one of the better fighters out of Holland in the 1970's...hell maybe the very best.
And he put up a game effort against a fighter who was leaps and bounds beyond anything he ever could be. That's something to be proud of, but that's pretty much Lubbers only claim to fame.
Given the other 7 guys that beat him, I think it's safe to say he couldn't beat any of the Top fighters in the world from the 1970's.
He couldn't beat Joe Bugner...and Joe Bugner wasn't on the level of a guy like Foreman, or Ali either.

I have footage of those between round interviews...im not sure they are on youtube? I will be verifying...Thing is Il Duce your lies get found out so often and you do not address that you have been found out. Just continue with the same old bs pattern...while you keep the forum going because you annoy so many people and they log on to 'go to battle with you' to contest your bs but the tragedy is you have put off some very valuable historians and experts from visiting this site...what a shame.
So what you have is a forum where people give their opinions and unfortunately a forum littered with un truths and lies....hardly a viable source for information but rather a ' childrens chalkboard'. ..

I'm just trying to keep it in perspective. Rudi Lubbers is not a bad individual (at least I don't think he is), just because of the crap Duce says about him or claims he said.
I'm not going to let one man's lies about somebody allow me to have an undeserved negative opinion of him. It wouldn't be fair to Mr. Lubbers. Who has done nothing wrong himself and probably wouldn't agree with much of anything Duce has said either.

Adinolfi knocked out Lubbers in 2 rounds in a bout for the European Light Heavyweight Title.
I think it's safe to say that most all ranked Heavyweights in the 1970's packed a harder punch than Mr. Lubbers.
28-8 with 13 KO's is not a puncher's record. His KO percentage is well under 50%.
People who's KO's percentages are less than 50% are rarely ever considered to be big punchers.
Hell Ali isn't even considered to be a big puncher, he's considered to be a great fighter who could hit hard enough to get the job done, but most all of his contemporaries in the 70's are considered bigger punchers.

Ali could bang when he sat on his punches. Watch the Thrilla... He has Joe going backwards three or four steps in the thirteenth and fourteenth rounds. He could also cut a fighter to shreds.
