Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Campbell is not a puncher. I want to see how he copes when someone hits him back.

You were right, Connelly takes a few heavy shots and the ref jumps in as Halling and Watt universally jizz themselves.ThereByTheGrace wrote:r4 Campbell trying to get him out of there. I smell a silly stoppage from the ref

You would think he had just won a world title...

Luke "The Pedophiles Champion" Campbell reigns supreme!
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
I know it's trendy to knock the Olympic medallist, hyped up prospect etc but I'm not totally convinced from what I saw tonight. Lots of offensive skills no doubt but will be really interesting when he steps up against someone who can slip and throw back.

Feel sorry for Connelly but good stoppage by the ref,Lee was game but outclassed, too brave for his own good, live to fight another day and all that
I was impressed with Campbell,s accuracy, defence and his temprement
I know you can never judge someone by their looks but Luke does look like a boy and as skillfull as he clearly is,i cant see how he can hang with real men in the division

What illness has his Dad got?
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Here we go, Boom Boom on next. The Hull Arena is buzzing!
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
I'd throw Campbell in with Dougie Curran next, he's tough, comes to win and takes rounds off most fighters.

I,m not sure but it may explain why he pulled out of the Glasgow show in septemberexpe wrote:What illness has his Dad got?
I wish him well regardless

If either of you thinks that was a silly stoppage you have not been in a ring yourselves.expe wrote:You were right, Connelly takes a few heavy shots and the ref jumps in as Halling and Watt universally jizz themselves.ThereByTheGrace wrote:r4 Campbell trying to get him out of there. Close to 6 foot? He's listed as 5'9, and to suggest it's impossible to find sparring partners like him is ridiculous, it's like there's no southpaws with fast hands around the weight.
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
With all these olympians they look amazing in the early fights of their pro career as they're in against people hopelessly outmatched. These fights mean jack. You only know how good they are when there in with someone who's close to their level and who has a bit of a dig on them.

I stated this before r5 started matey. The stoppage was coming but you know but British refs are like, I felt Connelly deserved a chance to see it to the end but I know the stoppage wasn't unfair either.taffytoon wrote:If either of you thinks that was a silly stoppage you have not been in a ring yourselves.expe wrote:You were right, Connelly takes a few heavy shots and the ref jumps in as Halling and Watt universally jizz themselves.ThereByTheGrace wrote:r4 Campbell trying to get him out of there. I must admit I have only seen Coyle once v Matthews and he was unlucky
But looking at his record on paper it is mainly against fighters on losing runs

i've got coyle in accumulator, hope it's not stopped before 4 as it'd be a technical draw!
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Easy to tell who Halling and Watt want to win, ignoring anything Simpson does and wanking themselves blind over Coyle.

Seems like Coyle is using up way more energy than Simpson. I have a bad feeling about this guy in a distance fight
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Coyle's style of punching is made for those slow motion replays. The way he opens his whole body and wings in those hooks and uppercuts.

What do you think Steve? I have a bad feeling Simpson is going to slowly start to take over...I feel like Coyle is going to get tired
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
Wtf kind of stoppage was that?!
Re: Hull Show - Sat 2nd November- RBR
That is an absolute disgrace of a stoppage.

For once I am happy with the ridiculous British premature stoppage. (bet on coyle)
