There will several potential matchups coming after this one, that's not one of them.
Pac vs Marquez 5
Pac vs Bradley 2
Rios vs Alvarado 3
Provodnikov vs Rios
Provodnikov vs Marquez
Pacquiao vs Alvarado
Provodnikov vs Bradley 2
...any of those fights will be a possibility going forward. I can't imagine Rios will be too marketable against any opponent other than Alvarado in the near future, but considering their first 2 fights I think Rios vs Alvarado would be an easy sell even with both men coming off losses.
Rios is an easy sell against any one dimensional fighter like himself in pick'em fights.

YEAH BABY! Collected my money on the fight going into the 10th.
This fight along with Froch getting the stoppage has earned me $207.50 for the day.

Yes he is, that's why I threw Provo vs Rios into the mix. I'd still be interested in that fight despite the bad beating Rios is taking here, as I'm sure other fans would be. Rios loves a brawl and Provodnikov does too.

Rios stays on his feet, so at least he has that going for him. Hopefully he didn't take too much damage and will be able to at least compete at the same level he was able to before after this.
I'd still love to see Rios vs Alvarado III and it makes perfect sense to me to do that after this. Pac has any number of fights in his future. Great performance.

...a few judges were being generous. I suppose you could give Rios 1 round legitimately, but giving him 2 is awful nice.
At any rate. Manny was the clear and undoubtable winner.

No clue. Often times when there are fights this one-sided a judge will find a pity round to give the loser.

None, they were just being generous...trying to act like it was a fight somehow. 120-108 was my card and it's the way Larry Merchant and Col. Bob saw it. That's what actually happened and everyone knows it. Including the judges that gave Rios some rounds.
It's all a formality really. Pac dominated, that's all anyone will remember about this in the long run.

Alvardo as well...especially if he wins a rubber match with Rios, he'd put himself in the running for a fight with Manny, Tim or Marquez.

I think Alvarado would have to beat someone of a higher caliber than Rios at this point to put him in line to face one of those guys.
Why? It's not like any of those guys save for Bradley are on some whirlwind roll of success at the moment. If Alvarado beats Rios or Rios beats Alvarado in the 3rd match...they're a reasonable opponent for any of the bigger names at 147 or 140.
But because of the Top Rank/Golden Boy wars, these are likely the only options for any of them.
Golden Boy has it's own stable of interesting fights in this division. Really both promotional companies have plenty of potential matchups in that weight range without doing business with each other.

Provodnikov makes some sense as the next opponent. After competing with Bradley and beating Alvarado, he's no longer anonymous.
