Off the top of my head if Matchroom were to be putting a bill on with McDonnell v Hall as the main event I'd guess they would have it in Yorkshire with Tommy Coyle and Luke Campbell on the bill. The Hall fight was great and even comes with a Rocky story. Hall becoming an unlikely world champion is real live feel good moment. It's a shame that it's not 1989 and that instead of being on ITV it aired on allegedly and took place in an arena with empty seats. Hall should come off that performance and be famous (even if it was for only 15 minutes) but he won't. As valiant as it was (and he really was valiant at time) I would guess that, in the grand scheme of things, no one saw it. There will be no Sports Personality of the Year nomination for Stuey Hall. No one can take it from him (and that is really the important thing) but I wish it was a bigger deal.

I was there tonight, yes there were a fair few empty seats but the atmosphere for the Hall fight was immense, it was a great fight Hall put in a tremendous performance and all credit to him and Hobson for putting the fight on. The arena, albeit a theatre style arena, proved good for putting on big time boxing. Another fight at the FD arena at a different time of year with a better undercard would sell more I'm sure.

A great night for Hall and his supporters who were a credit to him, unlike some Gary Sykes fans that were a bunch of pissed up racist bellends.

With a pretty moderate undercard, if the 4500 ticket sales are to be believed then it's a great effort regardless of the number of empty seats. The likes of Barker, Bellew and Selby, with the Sky and Matchroom juggernaut behind them couldn't even do those figures in their home cities.

Morning TT. There are umpteen unproductive bastions of misery dotted around. Sustaining these places seems cruel to me, that's all. Leave them to their own devices and we'd reach a pleasant equilibrium within a few generations.

Seriously, though, I only used Dewsbury as the example because it was brought up in the topic as a hot-bed of racial tension. Almost without exception, whenever you find a town or area of a city with racial tension, you'll find a lack of productivity and raison d'être generally. The racism is just an offshoot. They wouldn't hate each other if they were all rushed off their feet with opportunity.

There's plenty of places that are slowly dying, prime examples being Blackpool and Burnley, both lost their main trades and haven't found a way to replace them.

Hall was fantastic. I would never of thought he had that kind of performance in him. Great fight and thoroughly deserved win.

I just watched the video - what a war! That was the Fight of the Year in my opinion.

Props to both fighters.

That was one hell of a performance from Hall. Pure inspiration.
