I reckon Crawford will be a tough fellow but Burns can jab him to a standstill; though Terence beat Prescott Ricky beat the tough Katsidis in very good style. I think Burns will win a deserved decision (and then I hope he rematches Beltran, who does deserve another go).

So old Boxing News hands Bennie ( says Burns ) and Graham Houston says Crawford..but the great GH is conflicted...he thinks Crawford might be shocked by the Burns fighting heart and roaring home crowd, but he's going tentatively with the American. 50/50 then ?
The thing is, Crawford could win 8 rounds, but he'd be lucky to get a draw ( based on previous events ) The judges wont fancy leaving that arena without showing the home champ every respect.
Crawford needs to stop Ricky, but I'm not sure he can. He does look like he might be about to prove he's the real thing, and he's going to have to if he's to win tonight.

There's been so much criticism and scrutiny over the cards lately that a well connected boxer such as Crawford will not get done on the cards - it's as likely as Salido getting a close decision tonight.

To answer the questions, im pretty sure Crawford isnt here for the payday and I also dont think top rank are sending him here on a kamikaze mission as he's one of top ranks prized prospects. Also a lot of american fighters arent big ticket sellers. Most of the money is made from HBO and showtime deals. Regarding the fight itself though, I think it will be closer than people think anyway. Crawford has a strong chance but I dont see him completely dominating burns even if he does win.
I do find it strange that Top Rank agreed to let Eddie have the fight here, if he was a prized prospect then I would think it would make sense to make sure the fight was in their own country. Ie lose money holding the title fight in the US and make it back after a few defences against no-names.
I'm never convinced when a foreign fighter comes over here and I'm thinking it is for the money. The Americans usually are never the same one way or another after fighting here.
The situation doesn't add up to me. It's boxing politics, I don't see why Top Rank couldn't have told Eddie to eff off and made the fight happen on the Chavez undercard for example.
Seems a bit sink or swim to me, if they really thought he was going to be a big star the fight would be in Texas tonight on the Chavez-Vera card, instead of sending him all the way over to Glasgow for the fight.

I've been sick of all this Crawford hype anywhere this fight has been mentioned. He hasn't earned it Vasquez Mitchell Mcloskey and Alvarado all beat Prescott first the latter by awesome KO . He can earn praise tonight but I would love Ricky to KO him just to shut various critics.
Really up for this tonight.

Yeah im one of the people that isnt totally sure how good Crawford is. He's definietly got some skills but he's clearly pretty damn untested to be honest!

Scottish boxing is due one of it's famous nights, maybe this will be one of them, I certainly hope so.

Yeah i noticed Fwank getting his two-bob in about the pending case,i gather he must know he has this one in the bag

Ricky probably won't have seen it, Fwank's column is only published today and I doubt his mind's on what people are saying in the papers.

Though I can imagine that Ricky doesn't sit glued to a computer or seeks out and worries about what anyone says about him in the build up to a fight.
