Cotto is throwing flurries at the chest and BIG left hooks on the chin, turning Martinez's face as he scissors his legs. Martinez is countering with both hands, lightly, not planting his feet and putting any torque on anything.

Round 7

Martinez is circling out, doubling right jabs into the air at eye level, hopping in and out. Cotto hurts Martinez with a right hand. Cotto shrinks back from a 1-2, avoiding it as he turns his body to his right and bends his knees. Counter rights by Cotto as Martinez lunges in on his lead knee with a body jab.

Cotto schooled Martinez that round, but despite the lopsided card, I have to give Martinez a ton of credit, he's clearly completely screwed with that knee, doubt we'll see him in the ring again.

Round 8

Martinez is circling left and line-driving his right jab, making infrequent soft contact with Cotto's waxed eyebrows. Cotto is swatting out ahead with the left hook on the body, just grazing the belly. Big follow-up hook up top by Cotto, scoring a bit more cleanly, but Martinez is able to dip with it and takes it well.

BIG right hand by Cotto! Martinez is hurt. Martinez is circling out toward the ropes, then hurtling into Cotto with his right arm wrapped around him. Cotto bucks him off and lands a left hook. Cotto is hurting Martinez with jabs now. Hard stiff up-jabs by Cotto, rocking Martinez. Slapping left hook across the back of the head by Cotto as Martinez ducks. Martinez puts up a timid double right jab as he backs out and circles right. HARD left jab by Cotto, snapping Martinez's head back again. Right hand by Cotto forces Martinez to back straight up. Right hook at the body by Martinez, landing with the back of the glove awkwardly and using the contact to push away from Cotto. Martinez tries a right hook off-balance and is sent to one knee as Cotto stuffs a hard left jab into his face.
