Like everyone else I really want to see Chisora / Fury 2, but its a bit strange when you consider Derrick is already the top contender. He doesn't need the fight. Fury does - in terms of becoming a mandatory challenger.

What is Derrick gaining from the fight ? Because, when he loses to Fury, and has forfeit his top ranking with the WBO, he might wonder if this was the best option for him ?

He needs to fight someone to become mandatory, if you're ranked 1 with the IBF then you're mandatory, but with the WBO it just means you're currently top of the pile, if #2 and #3 were to fight each other, Chisora would drop down to #2 and the winner would replace him at the top. Fighting Fury in an eliminator should guarantee the winner the mandatory position when it comes up. Without an eliminator it's pot luck with the WBO, they decide they feel like calling a mandatory and when they do it's just whoever happens to be #1 at that stage, that was how Ricky Burns got the Martinez fight.

allegedly is trying to find a new opponent for Fury for Saturday, but fighters are asking for too much because they know he is desperate.

Does anyone have an idea what the purse split was before the injury? If Dereck still gets paid anything? And if Tyson still gets paid anything, even if he does not find a replacement?

If the "journalist" is going to make such a comment, then they should find out exactly how much is being offered and how much boxers are wanting (in pound notes - and include any extras or options etc.).

He is 2-3 years ahead of Eubank now and should just ignore him. Showing immaturity being wound up here. He may aswell just mention he is nowhere near my level and not get worked up.

Euabnk could be at that level now but either isn't aresed are likely being protected as he isn't that good.

ttue however if someone really wants a shot they shoul be willing to fight for £25-30k even if its on the understaning they will get an under are place on another event if they want it. Audley is rich and has fought in prize fighter for around that figure before he says he wants a decent opponent he should be offering his services for peanuts just for the chance. Just an example.

Na depends what your motivation is pal. Tiger Thompson probably doesn't have many years left in the game and will be looking to make as much money as he can whilst he's still able to fight at the highest level.

So you would expect a heavyweight who may be sat at home and possibly ticking over in training to take on an unbeaten 6 foot 8 boxer who has been in full time training for 6 months, for £25k (will have £10k in his pocket after manager/promoter/taxes) at 4 days notice ?

I expect fighters who aren't going to get a better fight any point who have been in sparring camps etc bee to take the shot that is there. Its not un realist audley said he would fight chambers last minute, Thompson and tarver are both offering to fight it all depends what they are willing to get paid. Which doea tarver need £10k or a fight at hw?

Fair dos if they do rustle up an opponent. People shouldn't get their hopes up for anything more than a huge scrabble scoring named eurobum though - anything else would be too dicey.

Also ticket sales were poor for this even now there will be less fans going on Saturday.

In terms of percentage how many people have bought tickets due to the undercard fighters? I imagine a decent amount.

I hope I am wrong but wondering if it could be James Toney as the replacement, Toney was due to fight in Riga this Saturday against Dennis Bakhtov but that has been called off today and Bakhtov is now fighting Airich. Now its probably just that the fight was never going to happen but Toney had been in the gym and conditioning (such as it is) etc so clearly at some point he was either going
to fight or considering it.

He would definately come for a wedge of money and I know its not a good fight in any shape or form but its a name (albeit) one who has long seen better days, its a no risk fight as well as Fury
would win and win at a canter.

Still as I say I hope I am wrong, my original guesses would have been Pala or Gerber.

It's just with the rumoured poor ticket sales, I wondered how many of the sales stand apart from the actual main event. It's a legitimate question.
