The big question is has he got a defence ?????????
I keep banging on about this like a broken record but he looks stiff to me. Something about the way he throws punches and moves looks unnatural to me.

Bakhtov has pulled out/unavailable or something according to Halling, new opponent needed.

It wouldn't make more dough. It would greatly damage boxing.

If Joshua can take a punch, he'll rule the heavies

Looks like what he does has been drilled in rather than coming naturally, it looks fluid but it's the same combinations time after time, not sure what will happen when he's forced to think on his feet after someone starts to make him miss and take the 1-2 away.

Put Wlad and anyone else above 16 and a half into their own weight class. I see too many mismatches in HW boxing now and I think it would be a good change to make.

Haven't seen it but boxrec has it down as an injury. It was donkeys years back but I saw Bakhtov take some absolutely enormous punches for round after round against Sinan Samil Samm who was at his peak at the time.

I hope Bakhtov takes him past 8 rounds even if there isn't a lot coming back. Joshua needs a fight where he whacks someone and they stay there so when he whacks someone and they stay there AND they are throwing good shots back at him it isn't 2 things he hasn't seen before.

I hope he can. He looks awesome and was in complete control tonight. As he's admitted himself just now, despite appearances, there's still a lot of work still to be done before he moves up to the very top level.

It will never happen.

Jamie Moore is really on one tonight, Joshua was letting Airich go a few rounds so he could work on things. Sometimes I wonder whether they really believe what they're saying.

Do you see what I mean though? If you compare the way he throws punches and the way he moves in a general sense to Wlad, Wlad looks a lot more natural and loose I guess is a good description. Obviously Wlad's extensive amateur background and also a serious amount of pro fights also helps in that I guess.

I've been saying that for years, the size discrepancy between some heavyweights is ridiculous.

Wlad has managed quite well with a similar arsenal of punches.

If Joshua can hold up under pressure and take a shot, then we are probably looking at the next dominant heavyweight champ IMO.

I guess the problem might be though that the super heavyweight division would probably end up being pretty small lol

I still think Wlad Moves better and is quicker on his feet for a similar sized man.

Yep, I thought that and it takes credit away from an opponent who was brave.

Joshua has a long way to go yet. When asked about his sparring with Wlad the very first thing Joshua said was, and I quote, "The champ's in a league of his own". That says it all really.

Wlad's a far better boxer though, his jab and footwork are a class above any heavyweight around. Joshua will never dominate the division, he might win a title, but he isn't capable of doing what Wladimir's done, he's been given a bunch of fights to make him look good and has barely learned a thing, a week sparring with Wlad will have taught him more than his 8 fights have done.

Lennox looked raw after 8 fights.

Joshua will look a lot different in two years let alone in five/six years time.

(Whilst it isn't popular with most) Anthony will need to learn to spoil and to negate spoiling. Sparring Wlad will obviously have highlighted that to him, however big and powerful you are, if you're in there with someone who knows how to negate your arsenal, you'll struggle.

What do you think of Joshua, Ian? Your someone who i've found to be at breaking down fighters and fights.

He's good enough to do that, but if Quigg can impose the size advantage he has he should take over as the fight goes on. Quigg really needs a meaningful fight and fast.

I've just got a feeling Jamoye will be all wrong for Quigg & might cause an upset here.

I'm probably wrong tho!
