If Stiverne can get him into the second half of the fight I reckon he can drown him - been all Wilder up til now though

Wilder's stamina is holding up better than I thought he would into the second half of the fight

Haymon just said wilder got a bigger purse than stiverne.....how did this happen? Thought it was 75%-25% to the champ?

Wilder has proved himself tonight but I think from watching that fight that fury would beat him.

8-4 Wilder
More impressed by that than I would by with a quick blowout. His tactics were right and he stuck to them.

Stivern to win the early rounds with Wilder doing little other than throw the odd hopeful bomb.
Stivern to survive a few hairy moments in the mid rounds and drop a couple rounds, but wilder will punch himself out trying to find the finish and his lack of 12 round experience will lead to stiverne taking the last few rounds to take the fight 115-112, Stiverne down once in the 5th.
Rematch scheduled for summer in Canada
I don't know whether or not you're being serious but I thought I was the only one who sees a 12 rounder here. They are not going to be taking risks with each others power. Stiverne will be waiting for Wilder to commit and meanwhile Wilder will be cognizant of not committing too much and getting countered. Meanwhile Wilder will be marginally winning the rounds. I don't really see fireworks in this one.

That's a fight that HAS To be made now - big money for both guys and Fury's best (only?) chance of taking a world title strap.

He took a shot, he went the distance but he wasn't able to blast Stiverne out in the manner that was expected.
Some questions answered but you have to ask if his punch power isn't as effective when he steps up a level.
That said, I was quite impressed with Wilder tonight.

You'd think so. I'm not sure how the politics work though.

I think the general rule is if I'v tipped it on here, go with something that doesn't involve my tip.

I was impressed by them both this afternoon, Wilder - as Mickey has just said on another thread boxed tall but he did it very effectively, showed good speed and a lot of ring intelligence - however, Fury is a different kettle of boiling fish and I cannot see how Wilder will keep Fury at bay.
What was more disturbing was Wilders 'showboating' he just does not have the skill set to pull that off without someone world class putting him on his arse. He will need to be very focused and disciplined to share a ring with Fury. I am not saying Wilder can't beat Fury because he can but my money will be on Tyson (like it was on Stiverne.

)
