I don't agree the boy Evans had lost all his fights. I think for a debut its matched well. I can't remember the scorecard but in my opinion Andrew dropped the 2nd round I think he was a bit eager to impress and got caught be a overhand right that stunned him and he took a bit to recover. He recovered well and put him down in 3rd when things weren't looking great then took over again. On paper it looked like a easy start but Evans gave a good account of himself. I don't know Andrew only know what I've heard from people but he has a pleasing style to watch. I think the only fight close to evenly matched was Clark v Adaway.. Adaway was 3 wins 3 defeats although from what I have heard from people in the game he should have got the decision in all his fights so arguably he could of been 6-0 or at worst 5-1. I think the difference in levels showed in this fight although Chris showed he was a good fighter Ronnie was just too good. This was the only fight with both fighters having close to a positive record. Got to agree about Connor Law he looks a unit and a half. Hard to tell with the limited ability of opponent but he done the job quick and got out of there. Him v Towell will be a cracker. I think that will be down the line but looking at his performance he is at that level. Jamie Wilson got his opponent out of there quicker than amateur start Charlie Edwards done that's good going. He's moving into title contention at Super Fly. A few Good fights there with undefeated fighters. Be interesting to see if he could make flyweight. A fight with Ian Butcher would be good especially if Ian wins the British Title. Mikey is in a good division domestically plenty of british fighter there for him. Even about 4 or 5 in Scotland. I would prefer his next fight to be Vassell that would let us see how good he is barring that the winner of Matty Mcallister v Craig Kelly. Matty v Mike would be a great Dundee v Aberdeen fight whether in Dundee or Aberdeen both boys would do a bucket load of tickets

I pretty much agree with him lol, £40 a bit much for a 5 fight card when 5 home fighters in fights there all expected to win, and comfortable,
Raging about the shark comment, nothing rhymed we clark , our vocab isn't the strongest and we tossed the coin between shark and bark,
Mike towell being a dish, I took that as a bit of a man crush and chloe would not be amused if he was selling all his tickets to females:p all in all he pretty much nailed it ha

I don't believe there was 700 if so it looked less full. I thought maybe 500 at a push. If they had 700 they will have made a cracking profit at those prices. That will be a income from ticket sales of £35k plus. With one fight being dropped would expect total outgoings being around the £18k mark maybe the Dundee boys deserve a little bonus ha. On a serious not last Caird Hall was about 700 so doing the same at those prices is great. Was a bit more in the Ice Arena but the tickets were a lot cheaper. I think that shows can really get big fights in Dundee and promoters can make good money Caird Hall is a great venue holding 2400 have even got the Ice Arena that can hold 4000. Holding British title fights in Dundee should be more than a possibility. I think the biggest well done has to go to the fighters and there helpers they sold all the tickets. Jamie and Chloe I know sold 100s of tickets. Come on Colin and Ian give them a little something when you get back from your holiday to the Bahamas

Have a wee word with yourself as your comment makes no sense, we have all different nationalitys on this board so get someone to proof read it before you post it. Never once said I didn't mean it, I meant everything I said, some of the timing wasn't right but I'll never lie and change who I am. I'm an honest person and if I think it's a rip off I'll say it was a rip off. If it's a mismatch I'll say it, go on eastside boxing and pretty much everyone has said same as me, and I don't post on that website!

I honestly don't know what on earth you are going on about now but you ruin threads with your drivel, that's what I and most other posters who have responded to you are saying. It's been getting said to you for ages now and you don't take any notice.

I say drivel, what on this post is drivel, ? Who are you? And what insight did you have from the dundee show? Me and chloe have both put very similar stuff on here, she's a Positive person who puts stuff in s different way and makes best of it, I'm negative who says if I think it's a joke, no promotion, oppononts announced to late, price to much and not value for cash, mike sold a whack of floor seats, ronnie sold a lot of balcony, I support the dundee guys but I also support myself to the fact where I sell tickets and need to answer people's questions, mikey has a set fan base and ronnie has one too, ronnies first fights it was all good, but after so many shows in Scotland, they Wernt happy seein him bowl people over, they wanted real fights, they don't care about boxing politics, they care about value for money and the internet doesn't allow you to pull wool over there eyes, if anyone from saltire wanted to know face to face I would tell them, Happily, I am who I am, I support all the Dundee boys, my prediction regarding. Jamie Wilson is true and he'll be the one with the shots and fair play for taking s risk, a nice boy to boot.

His comment is saying you always say stuff like "Am i nice person " and "i never meant anything by it" on your posts. I can only assume these are your reply's into criticism aimed at you personally on here. That is what i could take from his posts.
He is also implying that you ruin good threads with your negative comments about boxing in Scotland (and in the uk) and constant moaning about the same stuff over and over again. Again this is what i take from his posts.
but then i could be wrong .

I prefer someone who is open about his opinion , and not one who will go say it behind people's back, my opinion on boxing is only generated on scottish boxing on these boards, there in the doldrums, everyone is protected and won't risk there 0 which generates crap fights on crap shows, only small hall
Show Iv been to in Scotland that's been value for money is aberdeen, that's the truth, no dundee shoe has been, and the prospects show for false advertise as starts with 11 fights and finishes with 5, all pretty badly matched, saltire have been impressive lately but for me seeing first hand there was no advertising or pushing it in Dundee, we didn't get a poster till 4 weeks before it, I was chasing them for the tickets, too much bum licking everywhere in Scotland, got to play the game etc I hear all the time, I don't need to play any games, I can say what I want and people on outside can judge but until you see from inside you will never know:)

I've just made a direct comment to you, saying that your like a broken record and talk the same bubbling pish thread after thread. What does who I am have anything to to with it?

I was told they barely broke even Davie, if as you say only 500 bothered turning up in at 2,400 capacity hall the any promoter would defo think hard about doing the same again.
It's ok saying the hall is good enough to have a British title fight in it you need the fighters and at this moment in time it appears there isn't anyone
Base your figure of 500 x £40 = £20,000 big difference from £35k
My figures would be more realistic, he did say theshow cost a lot of money to put on which generates less profit
The main thing is you got a show on in Dundee the lads won and hopefully a lot more people turn up next time
Bare in mind the like of David Brophy and Steve Simmonds have sold up to 800 tickets each for fights it dwarfs the Dundee achievments

Billy as a city glasgow dwarfs dundee bare that in mind, dundee is a very weird city if you ask me, getting the casuals in is a task, like for me doing open sparring in a shopping centre Intellegent, have a booth for tickets and let people have a glimpse of what it's about, also the floor was packed on Saturday, simply £60 and you had say 15 tables at 1000 a table and a sponsorship from a catering company in Jimmy marr, they nailed the floor it's just the casuals they need to bring in through promotion, they do that then they can make a huge event here, potential is there

I'm sure further down the page I have actually broke down the figures for profit on loss on this show. I Saltire are saying 700 tickets were sold and the struggled to break even then it seems to be the promoters way. I was involved with the costings for the last Caird Hall show I know exactly what it costs. Tony Barely broke even with his 2 shows selling tickets a lot cheaper and not doing as good with the high end tickets he made a good few grand on each show. Why do promoters feel the need to make out there is no money and had higher outlays?? They done no promotion or marketing apart from posters.. The costs are standard. They also had sponsors just for a bit of fun I will break it downs for you Bill 20 tables on the floor lets half them so 100 tickets at £90 = £9000 and 100 tickets at £60 that's £6000 so £15,000 then 500 Tickets at £40 that's £20,000 hence my £35,000 comment.. If there was just 300 then that's £12,000 so that's a total of £27,000. The show cost no more than £18k and notive I've put no sponsor money on that. That's a good profit if you ask me

You have overheads on the tables too, but Jimmy marr would have supplied the bar and done a great deal along with sponsoring the show, they would have defintly made a profit though, all about learning really and making it better. Saltire should have been asking for feedback, I like colin bellshaw and Iain wilsons plans for scottish boxing, just think made a bit of a hash of it and didn't live to the expectation I had, caird hall is such a nice venue, tue staff are superb and all you ask of a venue, the bar was very good and decent service just believe we should be filling it more, either start of the month or end of the month as in this day not to many on weekly wages, promotion is key, tie in with tay fm, involve the two football clubs, for say offer a reduction in ticket prices for football club season tickets, (ice hockey team does this to huge success) any kind of use of filling a seat is better than an empty seat. Gotta involve the media, possibly interviews and articles such as 20 questions and findin out about out fighters and the promotors. Set up a ring in the shopping centre and try and inspire youngsters who in truth all will be attracted to the ring. So many ideas and not all costly, the shopping centres would jump at the chance for this and saltire have big names like simpson , harrison who could be brought in to boost it, dundee can be a great area but we need new promotion techniques, I hope these guys can provide it :)

So negative Jamie, the week in the run up to the show you were spouting off about opponents it actually read like you were trying to putt folk off, maybe your not aware of how it reads but that is how it came across.
Now your slating Colin and Iain about the show, like most things, these take time and im sure they are aware of how it went ££££ wise and will know what to do next time... and if i lived in Dundee i would be grateful there are promoters who are interested in putting a show on ... of course i dont expect you to agree with me, and no doubt you will say "You tell it like it is" which your entitled to, but i just you are very negative.

Alba- what I said was true, £40 a ticket for 5 tba is not good enough, how do we sell tickets if nobody knows who they are fighting? Also having to promote the show and knock our pans in to sell tickets when people should know what's going on, amount of people who nevet even knew there was a show, I negative I can admit that, boxing is a piss take though, its ok expecting fighters to sell tickets but what was expected of the dundee lads this weekend was far to much and if say 300 people showed where would the buck fall, it seems to be a common thing for people in Scotland to just go Aaa ok it's fine, all went great but those who seen the bigger picture know the truth, alba fighters should fight and promotors should promote, simple as that, I amnt here for people to like me, ronnie has gave up telling me to stop telling the truth, and I think Tommy snd Davie will give up, I amnt gonna bullshit people, they ask me what's the card like I tell them, pushing the show after the last one was hard enough, people were walking in the venue and the fights were done with Sweeney promotions,

In fairness what you may take there as negatives if I was Saltire I would take as positives. Your quite active in marketing for prospect shows and will have better ideas of how things work in your local area Dundee is a different beast to any major city in Scotland. I used to run the Sales and Marketing team of a large promotions company based in Dundee and most of our bigger money works was in Glasgow, Edinburgh and Aberdeen. Boxing in Aberdeen and Glasgow have a big following its a new thing in Dundee. People don't spend big money on nights out they look for value for money. 90% of boxing shows are not value for money and we all know the reasons for that. What you need to build is hype. You need good high quality fights with the risk of the home fighter losing. People like going to fights that they don't know the outcome before they show up. Get the crowd involved if you have a title national anthems. I know Dundee has got huge potential. There is ways to get media partners without any outlays. I had a deal running with Radio Tay in Dundee which was a full advertising package presenter announcements for a small percentage of ticket sales commission. Jamie is right something like 10% off if you are a season ticket holder with Dundee FC or Dundee Utd.. The clubs would love that kind of advertising and would work with the promoter. Between both clubs there is around 10,000 fans. 10% taking up that offer is 1000 more fans to the fight. The biggest one I think is getting local pubs on board to sell tickets. Busy shops have outlets for the average Joe to get tickets not just the fighters. Who really cares how many tickets Ronnie, Mikey or Jamie sell if the venue is full.. Also one more thing people in Dundee are fly will make you think like they are doing you a favour but making a massive profit themselves always get quotes from different companies. Use local because that's how you boost the show
