Kelly shaping up well in that round
Re: Official Lee vs Saunders RBR Thread
Fair play to Smith: he said he hasn't took this lightly and he hasn't. But fair play to Kelly too: he's come with total self-belief.

Name a person on the Smith record better than the current Mosley?crusader wrote:Who was Mosley fighting? And wasn't Shane stopped by Anthony Mundine not long ago?PredatorHayds wrote:Mosley looked good last night.crusader wrote:
Beating shot Mosley wouldn't prove much in my opinion.
He'd still be the best fighter on Smiths record.
I reckon it's a 50/50 fight.
I don't see how beating SSM boosts Smith's claim to being a world class fighter.

Because Matchroom and Sky pirates are not showing it. Can you imagine the typical Hearn (senior and junior) hyperbole about '2 all British/Irish world title fights on one bill with a stacked 10 fight undercard' 'we're talking 6 hours of competitive Boxing including 2 evenly matched world titles' 'real value for money' 'when was the last time you witnessed a British bill like it?' Decent boxer Kelly, nice shots, Smith looks like he's got the edge in brute strength, as usual, looking forward to seeing someone wipe that smirk off his face...

Commentary sounding pretty biased, as usual, Kelly more than just holding his own here. Tactically it's probably not the best idea to go toe-to-toe with Smith but he's certainly having some solid success

Even for me now
Re: Official Lee vs Saunders RBR Thread
I think an ESPN-level guy like John Thompson is at least on Mosley's level these days and could well be better than him.PredatorHayds wrote:Name a person on the Smith record better than the current Mosley?crusader wrote:Who was Mosley fighting? That's aside the point anyway, because beating Mosley would hardly prove Smith's world title credentials, even if Mosley were his best opponent. The last time Mosley faced anyone half-decent he was stopped in 7 by a fading Anthony Mundine; don't be fooled by a win over a blown-up fighter like Patrick Lopez who lost pretty much every time he faced anyone near the top 50.

The last Crolla bill had multiple WT fights and wasn't PPV. As much as the last PPV wasn't good enough it's a given people would go ballistic if one of the Matchroom World champs had a defence against someone like Kelly.reggaereggae wrote:Because Matchroom and Sky pirates are not showing it. Not sure on the rule. It might be a case you have to if the opponent requests. expe would be a good guy to ask, his knowledge on that kind of stuff is usually very good.Rexob wrote:I thought they had to shave beards off ? or is that just Heavy weights?

Re: Official Lee vs Saunders RBR Thread
got this 4-1 to Smith, but Kelly has put up a fine showing. Got some nice moves, just lacking quite enough pop to keep Smith off.

This is pretty poor for a "World Title Fight"!

The Smiths, Probably thought it was an easy job, so let him leave the beard on?

Dunno Rexob, that was a World level headbutt....Rexob wrote:This is pretty poor for a "World Title Fight"!

Brave effort by Kelly but class is telling. I knew Kelly couldn't be bad if Ensley believes in him.
