A fight I should get round to watching which I only ever read about in the BN was circa 2008 where Zab Judah won a lot of praise for going to war with Cotto in New York in front of a gazillion Puerto Ricans. That sounded like a great fight....in fact I am gonna see if it's on youtube tonight

Edit: whoops - just noticed it says British and Irish. Moore Macklin was a good, if scary fight. The pace at which they set off isn't comfortable viewing imo!

I was thinking of buying the book Benny, I just watched a documentary on him, interesting character.

I thought it would be a decade or two before that, before there would be major problems getting footage.

I thought it would be a decade or two before that, before there would be major problems getting footage.

Unless it's a British fighter featuring in a world heavyweight bout or facing Sugar Ray Robinson, then yes,, you're usually limited to the 2 minute long highlights from British Pathe footage

Particularly before 1950, I've been trying to track down footage off Archie Moore v Ezzard Charles from the late 40s and it just flat out doesn't exist. 2 of the top 10 greatest fighter who ever lived, fought a trilogy of fights in America in the age of television and no fornicator thought to take a camera with them, it beggars belief

A guy I've always wanted to watch a bit of, Dariusz Michalczewski, is being discussed over on BOTP.
I had a look at his record to see if he ever fought British opposition for this thread and spotted, Nicky Piper and Mark Prince.
Mark Prince I've never saw fight (that I can remember) so I had a look at his record and he was 18-0 when he faced Michalczewski for the WBO title, he had another win after that bout then retired for 14 years, coming back in 2013 to start a 4 fight winning streak winning the much vaunted MBC cuiserweight title and culminating in stopping a man 30lbs heavier than him, in one round, only 3 months ago

Horse, My opinion, fwiw is that the Curry vs Honeyghan was far more entertaining than the previous 2 fights and i'll likely watch it back 10 times before I ever put myself through watching Watson vs Eubank 1 ever again.

What about a fight that is close before a late rounds stoppage?

Most of the fights selected will probably go the distance, but I don't think that we should ignore fights with stoppages.
