Garcia has every right to take that position. He dropped Khan 3 times and having it stopped in the 4th is pretty conclusive. If Khan had gone off and pushed himself back to the top then it would be more worthwhile for Garcia but Khan offers nothing to him.

Now if Khan held the IBF title and gave Garcia the opportunity for a unification, that would be a much different situation

He doesn't have any right to take that position because Khan is the mandatory. If Garcia wants to keep the title, he has to fight Khan by the end of June. Otherwise he gives up the title or hopes Khan picks Brook. Garcia was dead luck to get the shot for the vacant title, because he was only No 2 in the WBC rankings and Guerrero was No 6. Khan was No 1.

We all come on here slagging off the alphabet titles and saying that they're meaningless yet when a fighter says they have different routes to take we start talking about mandatory especially again

What does beating Khan do for for Garcia's reputation?

If the IBF make Dan a mandatory should brook just face him or should he look elsewhere for better options

Khan probably didn't want the fight he doesn't seem to want world titles for some reason

Garcia's fight was already scheduled - the WBC only announced it was for a title on 12 Jan. Khan had only just returned to the gym after a seven month hiatus. Should they have waited for Khan to get fit?

What did beating Guerrero do for Garcia's reputation? Khan is a tougher fight than Guerrero. And who else is there for him to fight? If he thought it was the easy fight some on here seem to think, he'd jump at it

How long have they waited since Mayweather quit? They could have announced what fight they wanted in October or November. They don't normally just give the belt to any old fight that is already scheduled. They only agreed this time on the proviso that he fights Khan by June.

If they had announced what fight they wanted in October or November do you think that Khan might have returned to the gym and boxed Garcia last weekend?

I reckon Khan will fight someone low key in about 8 week on a PBC card then Garcia

I know I in the minority here but I don't think he should give brook the pay day.. His oppo is terrible

Khan is worth £30m so he can't be bullied into a split he ain't comfortable with.. brook should take a gamble and the 20% split.... He will more than likely win then he gets some serious dosh going forward

Khan is worth thirty million pounds?

Where in Hades did you find such a figure?

If Khan's was an American or Puerto Rican fighter, would you be saying he's a tougher fight. Thus is a guy who has already stopped Khan in 4 rounds, been the No1 at the division below and is one of the belt holders at welter. To be considered No1 at welterweight he needs to clean out the top rated fighters not waste time on Khan who'll no doubt be making claims for the larger share of the purse.

According to Khan the whole world is ducking him while everyone else is saying he makes ridiculous financial demands. He needs to realise he is the best side until he forces himself to be the a side

Google is in itself a conduit to information, some of it reliable, much of it not.

Kell is at his press conference today, still talking about Khan, along with his promoter and trainer.
Meanwhile, Khan is ringside in LA at Garcia/Guerrero arguing and calling out Mayweather.
Khan is in the driving seat in negotiations for this fight...

Calling out Mayweather? Don't you mean making a fool out of himself and sounding delusional? Mayweather looked at Garcia, looked back over his shoulder at Khan and said: 'This guy knocked you out?'

That sums up the reality of the situation.

Khan is doing the things a-levels fighters do, sitting ringside at big events, creating interest, talking up potential fights with multiple opponents.
Kell is sat at home in Sheffield still whinging about Khan not taking the fight.
Levels...

Levels! Brook is training to defend a title he won from Shawn Porter. Khan is babbling at retired 37 year olds sitting ringside while the world champ who KOd him is in the ring winnning another world title.

If there are levels Khan is at the bottom.

Brook is training to defend his title against Kevin Bizier and calling out Amir Khan at the same time.
Khan is arguing with Floyd Mayweather whilst sitting ringside at a WBC WW Title fight, for which he is the mandatory challenger.
Kell is talking about Khan, Khan is not talking about Kell.
Kell is the ugly girl at the dance pestering Khan to dance, whilst Khan is eyeing up supermodels.
Pay Khan to dance or get to the back of the line...

Khan is talking about Brook all the time, although as always he appears to have a loose handle on the facts. You seem to be a lone voice in thinking Khan looks good in all this. If he fights Garcia he'll get whacked for a far smaller purse.

I wouldnt say I was alone in thinking this.
And if Khan does get whacked he will do so attempting to avenge a loss, pretty balllsy to me to want to step into the ring with someone who ko'd you once before, for a smaller purse, simply to avenge it.
Kell is hardly a murderous puncher to be avoided at all costs, out there ko'ing top WWs. Biggest name Porter, razor thin decision...

The problem for Khan is that the supermodels that he is eyeing up are either not interested, out of the game, or both, so the ugly girl pestering him for a dance might be his only chance of any significant 'action'. :OhYes: :salut:

Haha, speaking from experience.
No only joking, I get your point.
But the fact still remains, khan is the a-side. He is david haye level celebrity. Brook is not.
I believe 70/30 etts this over the line. Pay the man and get the fight on...

Khan was num 1 mandatory it ended up Garica and Guerrero ,, Khan was probably hoping and wishing Garcia lost , then he would be in line to fight a slower fighter at the end of his days , and pick up the title that way ,, He knows the Brtook fight is not going anywhere ,, but what is disapearing is peoples intrest in him ,,, the longer he carries on not fighting the more people don't care ,, his management are fornicating up his carreer .

The wee man is either khans cousin or lover this is as bad the Floyd lovers or Manny lovers of a few years back ,boxing is about winning fights not how many twitter followers you have or being seen at a show
